					</table><p>NTPC Renewable Energy (<a href="https://ntpc.co.in/power-generation/renewable-energy" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NTPC REL</a>) has invited bids for the balance of system (BoS) package for 1.4 GW of grid-connected solar power projects in Lalitpur (2 x 300 MW) and Chitrakoot (2 x 400 MW) in Uttar Pradesh.</p>
<p>Bids must be submitted by January 30, 2025.</p>
<p>The capacity available for a single bidder is outlined as follows:</p>
<ol>
<li>A single block of 300 MW.</li>
<li>A single block of 400 MW.</li>
<li>Any two blocks with a cumulative capacity of 600 MW, such as 300 MW + 300 MW.</li>
<li>Any two blocks with a cumulative capacity of 700 MW, such as 300 MW + 400 MW.</li>
<li>Any two blocks with a cumulative capacity of 800 MW, such as 400 MW + 400 MW.</li>
<li>Any three blocks with a cumulative capacity of 1 GW, such as 300 MW + 300 MW + 400 MW.</li>
<li>Any three blocks with a cumulative capacity of 1.1 GW, such as 300 MW + 400 MW + 400 MW.</li>
<li>The entire capacity of 1.4 GW, comprising 300 MW + 300 MW + 400 MW + 400 MW.</li>
</ol>
<p>The projects are located at the Lalitpur and Chitrakoot Solar Parks developed by <a href="https://www.tuscoltd.co.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">TUSCO</a>.</p>
<p>Selected bidders must design, engineer, manufacture, supply, pack and forward, transport, unload, store, install, test, and commission the solar photovoltaic project. NTPC REL will supply the solar modules as free-issue items.</p>
<p>Successful bidders must also receive, unload, store, install, test, and commission the supplied solar modules. They must grade and clear vegetation at the project site and conduct topographical surveys and geotechnical investigations.</p>
<p>They must design and construct the foundations and erect the fixed tilt module mounting structures for the solar panels at a 1.45 DC: AC ratio. This responsibility includes installing and interconnecting the modules.</p>
<p>Selected bidders must also arrange the power and water supplies for construction purposes.</p>
<p>In April this year, NTPC REL <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/ntpc-rel-tenders-solar-project-in-rajasthan" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids for the BoS package (excluding land and transmission system) of a 500 MW state transmission utility-connected solar power project in Bhadla, Rajasthan.</p>

					</table><p><a href="https://www.voyants.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Voyants Solutions</a>, a consulting firm, has been declared the winner in the auction conducted by <a href="https://tuscoltd.co.in/Index" target="_blank" rel="noopener">TUSCO</a>, a joint venture company of <a href="https://www.thdc.co.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">THDC India</a> and the Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (<a href="http://upneda.org.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">UPNEDA</a>), to select an environmental and social impact assessment consultant for the development of 600 MW of solar power projects in the Jhansi district of Uttar Pradesh.</p>
<p>Voyants Solutions quoted a price of ₹2.53 million (~$30,437) in the auction.</p>
<p>The other two bidders were Greencindia Consulting and TUV SUD South Asia, who quoted ₹4.31 million (~$51,852) and ₹4.62 million (~$55,581), respectively.</p>
<p>The tender was <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/tusco-consultancy-600-mw-solar-projects-uttar-pradesh" target="_blank" rel="noopener">floated</a> in February this year.</p>
<p>The solar park will require an estimated area of 3,000 acres spread across eight villages of Jhansi district in Uttar Pradesh.</p>
<p>Last year, TUSCO had <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/daily-news-wrap-up-tusco-signs-advisory-solar-projects" target="_blank" rel="noopener">signed</a> an advisory mandate under which the International Finance Corporation for supporting TUSCO in developing 600 MW of solar power projects on a public-private partnership model. The solar projects were to be set up under the Ultra Mega Renewable Energy Power Park program of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).</p>
<p>The consultant will report to TUSCO for the execution of the scope of services and deliver the output under its direct supervision.</p>
<p>TUSCO has stated that for any delay attributable to the consultant beyond the scheduled period of completion of the entire work, the consultant will pay the owner liquidated damages at the rate of 0.5% of the contract value per week, subject to a maximum of 10% of the contract value.</p>
<p>In July this year, THDC India <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/thdc-consultancy-tender-land-2-gw-solar-parks" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids to empanel consultants for the acquisition of land to develop 2,000 MW ultra mega renewable energy parks in Rajasthan under MNRE’s Solar Park Program.</p>

					</table><p><a href="https://powerandenergyconsultants.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Power and Energy Consultants</a> India, an energy sector consultancy service company, has been awarded the consultancy contract by <a href="https://tuscoltd.co.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">TUSCO</a> to prepare a feasibility-cum-detailed project report for an 800 MW ultra-mega solar power park in Chitrakoot, Uttar Pradesh.</p>
<p>The company quoted ₹4.99 million (~$60,848) to bag the order.</p>
<p>TUSCO, a joint venture company of THDC India and the Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency, <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/tusco-consultancy-tender-solar-park" target="_blank" rel="noopener">floated</a> the tender for consultancy in March this year.</p>
<p>The tender received technical bids from four companies, of which only two qualified for financial evaluation, and the contract was awarded to Power and Energy Consultants.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.tuvsud.com/en-in/locations/asia/india/bangalore-/peenya-industrial-estaste" target="_blank" rel="noopener">TUV SUD South Asia</a> was the other company that qualified for the financial round.</p>
<p>Power and Energy Consultants must submit the feasibility-cum detailed project report within three months from the effective date of the project, i.e., August 11, 2023.</p>
<p>Any delay attributable to the consultant beyond the scheduled completion period of the entire work will attract liquidated damages at 0.5% of the contract value per week, subject to a maximum of 10% of the contract value.</p>
<p>The broad scope of service consists of preparing the detailed project report for developing an 800 MW solar power park comprising both technical and commercial analysis to understand the attractiveness, feasibility, risks, and mitigation plans related to setting up the solar park.</p>
<p>The area of the proposed project will be about 4,000 to 4,500 acres.</p>
<p>The agency should use information gathered from quarries, unlined wells, and cuttings from nearby areas. They must also gather data regarding the removal of overburden by excavation, erosion, or landslides in the area. Similarly, data regarding recent fills should also be studied to determine the fill&#8217;s characteristics and the original strata.</p>
<p>Additionally, the firm should provide an initial feasibility report to understand the business model for the proposed renewable energy park. The feasibility report should include the business model possible for the renewable energy park, regulatory approvals, proposed buyer of electricity generation, and probable buyer for signing the power sale agreement.</p>
<p>The detailed project report will include the technical and financial parameters for developing the solar park.</p>

<p><strong><a href="https://mercomindia.com/perovskite-alkylammonium-26-08-efficiency/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Researchers at South Korea’s Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology have developed a perovskite solar cell by using alkylammonium chloride to control the formation of defects in the perovskite layer</a></strong><strong>.</strong> The researchers said when testing the film in a perovskite cell, it was found that it achieved a power conversion efficiency of 26.08%, which exceeds the efficiency of silicon solar cells. When tested by NREL experts, the device achieved a certified efficiency of 25.73%. <p>Bidders must furnish a valid certificate of license for the use of software, and the names, qualifications, and details of the experience of persons who would work for this consultancy assignment should be given.</p>
<p>Their average annual financial turnover during the last three years should be at least 30% of the estimated work cost. They should have a net worth equal to or more than paid-up share capital during the financial year 2022.</p>

<p>Bidders will have to submit ₹51,170 (~$619) as an earnest money deposit. The successful bidder will have to furnish an amount equivalent to 3% of the contract value as a performance bank guarantee.</p>
<p>The duration of the contract will be for four months.</p>
<p>To participate in the bidding process, the consultant should have completed at least five years of environmental and social impact assessment for infrastructure projects, including renewable energy projects for the government or private sector. Of the assessments mentioned above, at least three should pertain to the generation of solar power projects.</p>
<p>Also, of the above-mentioned assessments, at least three should include the resettlement action plan and livelihood restoration plan in the last five years.</p>
<p>Additionally, the consultant should demonstrate experience in undertaking environmental and social impact assessments in accordance with international standards.</p>
<p>The proposed team should include experts and specialists in their respective skill sets and support staff so that the consultant can complete the consultancy within the specified schedule.</p>
<p>The consultant will report to TUSCO for the execution of the scope of services and deliver the output under its direct supervision.</p>
<p>TUSCO has stated that for any delay attributable to the consultant beyond the scheduled period of completion of the entire work, the consultant will pay the owner liquidated damages at the rate of 0.5% of the contract value per week, subject to a maximum of 10% of the contract value.</p>
<p>Recently, TUSCO <a href="https://mercomindia.com/tusco-invites-bids-for-consultants-for-floating-solar-projects/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids to appoint a consultant to prepare pre-feasibility and detailed project reports for developing floating solar power projects in Uttar Pradesh.</p>
<p>Earlier, TUSCO had <a href="https://mercomindia.com/daily-news-wrap-up-tusco-signs-advisory-solar-projects/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">signed</a> an advisory mandate with International Finance Corporation (IFC). IFC will support TUSCO in developing 600 MW of solar power projects in the Jhansi district of Uttar Pradesh on a public-private partnership (PPP) model.</p>
