TUSCO Floats Consultancy Tender for 600 MW of Solar Projects in Uttar Pradesh

TUSCO, a joint venture company of THDC India and the Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA), has invited bids to select an environmental and social impact assessment consultant for the development of 600 MW of solar power projects in the Jhansi district of Uttar Pradesh.
The last date to submit the bids is February 28, 2023. Bids will be opened the following day.
The project’s estimated cost is ₹5.12 million (~$61,949).
Bidders will have to submit ₹51,170 (~$619) as an earnest money deposit. The successful bidder will have to furnish an amount equivalent to 3% of the contract value as a performance bank guarantee.
The duration of the contract will be for four months.
To participate in the bidding process, the consultant should have completed at least five years of environmental and social impact assessment for infrastructure projects, including renewable energy projects for the government or private sector. Of the assessments mentioned above, at least three should pertain to the generation of solar power projects.
Also, of the above-mentioned assessments, at least three should include the resettlement action plan and livelihood restoration plan in the last five years.
Additionally, the consultant should demonstrate experience in undertaking environmental and social impact assessments in accordance with international standards.
The proposed team should include experts and specialists in their respective skill sets and support staff so that the consultant can complete the consultancy within the specified schedule.
The consultant will report to TUSCO for the execution of the scope of services and deliver the output under its direct supervision.
TUSCO has stated that for any delay attributable to the consultant beyond the scheduled period of completion of the entire work, the consultant will pay the owner liquidated damages at the rate of 0.5% of the contract value per week, subject to a maximum of 10% of the contract value.
Recently, TUSCO invited bids to appoint a consultant to prepare pre-feasibility and detailed project reports for developing floating solar power projects in Uttar Pradesh.
Earlier, TUSCO had signed an advisory mandate with International Finance Corporation (IFC). IFC will support TUSCO in developing 600 MW of solar power projects in the Jhansi district of Uttar Pradesh on a public-private partnership (PPP) model.
