					</table><p><a href="https://www.fichtner.co.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fichtner Consulting Engineers</a> has been awarded a consultancy contract by Assam Power Distribution Company (<a href="https://www.apdcl.org/website/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">APDCL</a>) to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) for a 1 GW grid-connected solar project in the Karbi Anglong district of Assam.</p>
<p>Fichtner India, a subsidiary of Germany-based Fichtner GmbH,  provides comprehensive engineering solutions covering the energy, environment, water, and infrastructure sectors.</p>
<p>The company had quoted a contract value of ~₹27 million (~$329,554) for the consultancy services.</p>
<p>APDCL <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/assam-consultancy-tender-1-gw-solar-project" target="_blank" rel="noopener">floated</a> the tender in November last year. The tender received technical bids from five companies, of which all qualified for financial bids.</p>
<p>The contract was awarded to Fichtner Consulting Engineers post the technical and financial evaluation.</p>
<p>The project will be developed under the ‘Mukhya Mantri Sauro Shakti Prokolpo’ program and funded by the Asian Development Bank.</p>
<p>Fichtner must prepare a DPR, which provides an analysis of the land topography, water, and a detailed master plan to suit the requirement of the solar project. DPR must also include details of all the infrastructure facilities, including solar modules, mounting structure, power conditioning unit, transformer, and power evacuation network.</p>
<p>The company must submit a preliminary report within 15 days of the letter of award. The draft DPR must be submitted by the 25<sup>th</sup> day, and the final DPR within 30 days.</p>
<p>The company has previously worked as a project management consultant for Gujarat Industries Power Company, Gujarat State Electricity Corporation, among others.</p>
<p>In March, Assam Cabinet <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/assam-approves-620-mw-renewable-energy-projects" target="_blank" rel="noopener">granted</a> initial approval for establishing renewable energy projects totaling 620 MW through a joint venture between the Assam Power Generation Corporation and Oil India. Among the projects are three agrivoltaic projects with a combined capacity of 250 MW, two floating solar projects with a combined capacity of 110 MW, and two ground-mounted solar projects with a combined capacity of 260 MW.</p>
