					</table><p>The Bikaner Division — Electrical, <a href="https://nwr.indianrailways.gov.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">North Western Railway</a>, has issued a tender for a cumulative capacity of 2,068 kW grid-connected rooftop solar power systems at railway residential quarters.</p>
<p>The last date to submit bids is August 23, 2024. Bids will be opened on the same day.</p>
<p>Bidders must submit an earnest money deposit of ₹604,700 (~$7,215). The advertised value of the tender is ₹9.09 million (~$108,122). The project should be completed within four months.</p>
<p>The scope of work covers the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of 2,068 kW on-grid solar projects at railway residential areas in the Bikaner Division. It also includes a wall-mounted type inverter, SPV array, module mounting structure, power conditioning unit, MPPT, controls, protections, interconnecting cables, switch gears, and the required features to improve the grid power.</p>
<p>Bidders should have a valid electrical contractor license issued by the government.</p>
<p>They should have also completed any one of the following during the last seven years –</p>
<ul>
<li>Three similar works, each costing not less than the amount equal to 30% of the tender&#8217;s advertised value</li>
<li>Two similar works, each costing not less than the amount equal to 40% of the tender&#8217;s advertised value</li>
<li>One similar work, each costing not less than the amount equal to 60% of tender&#8217;s advertised value</li>
</ul>
<p>Bidders must have a minimum average annual contractual turnover of V/N or V whichever is less; where V= advertised value of the tender in rupees and N= number of years prescribed for the completion of work. The average annual contractual turnover will be calculated as an average of total contractual payments in the previous three financial years, as per the audited balance sheet.</p>
<p>In June, the Hyderabad Division, Electrical—South Central Railway, <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/south-central-railway-invites-bids-2-7-mw-rooftop-solar-systems" target="_blank" rel="noopener">issued</a> a tender for 2.742 MW of rooftop solar systems of different capacities at station buildings, residential buildings, and level crossings and a ground-mounted 300 kW solar project.</p>
<p>In May, the South Central Railway <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/southern-railway-invites-bids-for-rooftop-solar-projects-in-chennai" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids for setting up grid-connected rooftop solar projects of a cumulative capacity of 1.55 MW at various service buildings and railway colonies in the Chennai Division.</p>

The tender has been floated in two packages —1,515 kW and 1,233 kW for an estimated value of ₹113.53 million (~$1.35 million). Bidders must pay an earnest money deposit of ₹717,700 (~$8,560.52).</p>
<p><a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/pesl-issues-tender-for-residential-rooftop-solar" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The PowerGrid Energy Services (PESL), a subsidiary of Power Grid Corporation of India, has invited bids to empanel channel partners</a> for rate contracts to install residential rooftop solar systems in Ladakh, Lakshadweep, Puducherry, and Odisha under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. The last date to submit bids is August 31, 2024. Bids will be opened on September 2. Bidders must furnish an earnest money deposit of ₹320000 ($3,816). The scope of the work covers PESL working with channel partners to connect with EPC vendors and distribution companies to complete the installation of the rooftop solar systems. The channel partners will also act as aggregators in states/Union Territories and tie up with EPC vendors to complete the project.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/adani-energy-solutions-via-qip-route" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Adani Energy Solutions (AESL) has raised ₹83.73 billion (~$1 billion) through a qualified institutional placement (QIP).</a> The proceeds from the QIP will be utilized for investment in transmission assets, such as building bulk evacuation corridors for renewable power, the smart metering business, debt repayment, and general corporate purposes. The QIP represents AESL’s first equity raise in the capital market since its demerger and listing from Adani Enterprises in July 2015. The transaction was launched on July 30, 2024, with a base deal size of ₹58.61 billion ($700 million) and included a greenshoe option to size up to ₹83.73 billion ($1 billion).</p>
<p><a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/amara-raja-energy-mobilitys-2025" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Battery manufacturer Amara Raja Energy &amp; Mobility has announced a profit before tax of ₹3.29 billion (~$39.1 million)</a> for the first quarter of the financial year FY 2025, up 23% year-over-year (YoY) from ₹2.66 billion (~$31.6 million). <p><a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/nextrackers-net-income-as-global-demand-grows" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Solar tracker firm Nextracker has recorded a net income of $139 million, a 95% year-over-year (YoY) increase compared</a> to $71 million for the first quarter (Q1) of the financial year 2025, reflecting significant growth across various metrics. The company reported a 50% YoY increase in revenue, reaching $720 million for Q1 FY25. This marks the sixth consecutive quarter of double-digit revenue growth, driven by healthy demand in both U.S. and international markets. The company achieved a record-adjusted EBITDA of $175 million, an increase of 108% YoY from $84 million, underscoring its operational efficiency and profitability.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/iex-july-2024" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Indian Energy Exchange traded its highest monthly green energy volume of 989.6 MU million units (MU) in July 2024</a>, a 259% year-over-year (YoY) increase from 275.4 MU. The weighted average Green Day-Ahead Market (G-DAM) price was ₹4.34 (~$0.052)/kWh. G-DAM cleared volume recorded an all-time high of 50 MU on July 28. The Exchange achieved the highest monthly total volume (including certificates) of 13,250 MU in July 2024, marking a 56% YoY increase. According to government data published in July 2024, the country’s energy consumption reached 145.4 BUs, representing a 4% increase YoY.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/uk-increases-renewable-energy-auction-budget-to-1-5-billion" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The budget for the UK’s sixth renewable energy Contracts for Difference (CfD) Allocation Round (AR6) has been increased</a> by 51.71% to £1.555 billion (~$1.91 billion) from £1.025 billion (~$1.30 billion) allocated in March 2024. The AR6 will be valid for five years, from financial years 2026 to 2031. The funding aims to accelerate the delivery of clean, affordable, low-carbon electricity to families and businesses from renewable energy technologies such as wind turbines and solar panels. The industry will now bid for a share of the funding through the government’s sixth renewable auction—the CfD program.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/ohmium-launches-gigafactory-in-bengaluru" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Ohmium International, a provider of green hydrogen solutions, has launched a gigafactory in Doddaballapura</strong></a>, near Bengaluru. The facility, spanning 14,000 square meters, will produce 2 GW of Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) electrolyzers annually, with plans to expand production capacity to 4 GW. Ohmium’s India subsidiary had been chosen as the preferred partner by NTPC Renewable Energy Limited to deploy Ohmium’s PEM electrolyzers in projects totaling 400 MW.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/blupine-secures-%E2%82%B94-36-billion-for-a-120-mw-solar-project-in-gujarat" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Renewable energy company BluPine Energy has secured ₹4.36 billion ($52.85 million) in financing from the State Bank of India</strong> </a>for its 120 MW solar project in Panshina and Radhanpur in Gujarat. The electricity generated from this project will be supplied to Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam under a power purchase agreement for 25 years from the scheduled commercial operation date. The project is expected to produce around 298,000 MWh of energy annually and supply power to approximately 270,000 households.</p>

North Western Railway Invites Bids for 7 MW Rooftop Solar Systems

					</table><p>The Jodhpur division of <a href="https://nwr.indianrailways.gov.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">North Western Railway</a> has floated a tender for 1,074 kW grid-connected rooftop solar power systems at various service buildings and gates.</p>
<p>The last day for the submission of bids is July 22, 2024.</p>
<p>The scope of the work includes the setup, testing, and activation of on-grid solar power systems in the Jaipur Division. This includes a wall-mounted inverter, SPV array, module mounting structure, power conditioning unit, controls, protections, interconnecting cables, switch gears, and necessary features to support grid power.</p>
<p>The systems will have a power factor greater than 0.95 and operate within a temperature range of -5 to +55 degrees Celsius. They will also include a solar meter and a government-approved net meter.</p>
<p>The project&#8217;s estimated cost is ₹44.6 million (~$534,227).</p>
<p>Bidders must pay an earnest money deposit of ₹373,300 (~$4,471).</p>
<p>The work must be completed in six months to complete the project.</p>
<p>Bidder must have a minimum average annual contractual turnover of V/N or V, whichever is less, where V is the advertised value of the tender in crores of rupees and N is the number of years prescribed for the completion of the work for which bids have been invited.</p>
<p>The average annual contractual turnover will be calculated as the average of the &#8220;total contractual payments&#8221; over the previous three financial years.</p>
<p>Bidders should have completed or substantially completed any of the following within the last seven years, ending on the last day of the month before the one in which the tender is invited:</p>
<ul>
<li>Three similar works, each costing no less than 30% of the advertised value of the tender.</li>
<li>Two similar works, each costing no less than 40% of the advertised value of the tender.</li>
<li>One similar work costing no less than 60% of the advertised value of the tender.</li>
</ul>
<p>The similar nature of work here refers to the supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of a solar power project with or without battery backup.</p>
<p>Last December, North Western Railways <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/railway-invites-rooftop-solar-projects-in-jaipur" target="_blank" rel="noopener">floated</a> tenders to install 2.8 MW grid-connected rooftop solar projects across the station and non-station buildings.</p>
<p>The Jaipur division also <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/railways-bids-rooftop-solar-projects-in-jaipur" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids to implement 1 MW rooftop solar projects on a design, build, finance, operate, and transfer basis.</p>
