					</table>NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam (<a href="https://www.nvvn.co.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NVVN</a>) has invited bids to develop 3.92 MW of rooftop and 2.4 MW of ground-mounted solar power projects at NTPC stations Simhadri and Ramagundam in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
The last day to submit the bids is November 6, 2024. Bids will be opened the next day.
Bidders must submit an earnest money deposit of ₹2 million (~$23,802).
The selected bidder must furnish a performance bank guarantee of 10% of the contract price within 28 days of the award.
Developers must have designed, supplied, and commissioned grid-connected solar projects with a cumulative capacity of 400 kW or higher, including at least one 40 kW or larger project.
The reference project must have been in operation for at least six months before the last date of bid submission.
Alternatively, they should have executed an industrial project worth ₹40 million (~$476,045) or more as developer or engineering, procurement, and construction contractor and completed an 11 kV or higher voltage substation.
The bidders’ average annual turnover should have been at least ₹221.7  million (~$2.63 million) during the last three financial years.
Their net worth as of the last day of the preceding financial year should be at least 100% of their paid-up share capital.
The contractor must use 540 Wp modules, which are included in the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers notified by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. The modules should have an efficiency of 20% and carry a five-year warranty.
Modules used must be warranted for their output peak watt capacity, which should be at least  90% at the end of ten years and 80% at the end of 25 years.
Recently, NVVN <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/ntpc-subsidiary-solar-projects-india/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids to develop ground-mounted and rooftop solar photovoltaic projects with a total capacity of 12.82 MW across multiple locations in India.

NTPC Subsidiary Invites Bids for 6.32 MW Solar Projects

					</table><a href="https://ntpc.co.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NTPC</a> has invited bids for the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of a 100 MW/400 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) at NTPC Ramagundam, Telangana.
The last date for submitting bids is November 22, 2024. Bids will be opened the same day.
The scope of work encompasses the design, engineering, supply, packaging and forwarding, transportation, unloading, storage, installation, and commissioning of the BESS with a discharge capacity of 100 MW and 400 MWh.
Bidders must provide bid security of ₹100 million (~$1.2 million).
They must gather site-specific data from the project owner to develop detailed installation and implementation plans.
The successful bidder will also supply all additional equipment, components, and services necessary to install a fully functional BESS.
The successful bidder must operate and maintain the BESS for ten years from the date of the successful trial run.
The BESS system will include a battery system, battery management system, energy management system, SCADA, power conversion system, protection systems, communication systems, high-tension and low-tension systems, auxiliary power systems, monitoring and control systems, fire-fighting systems, remote control and monitoring, and all associated materials and accessories required for seamless operation and maintenance.
NTPC plans to finance this project using its internal resources.
Bidders can qualify through one of the four routes:
Route 1:
<ul>
<li>Bidders must have manufactured and supplied batteries for grid-interactive BESS with a cumulative installed capacity of at least 40 MW.</li>
<li>At least one such system should have a capacity of 10 MW or more and have been in operation for a minimum of six months before the date of the techno-commercial bid opening.</li>
</ul>
Route 2:
<ul>
<li>Bidders must be integrators of grid-interactive BESS with a cumulative installed capacity of at least 40 MW.</li>
<li>At least one such system should have a capacity of 10 MW or more and should have been in operation for at least six months before the bid opening.</li>
</ul>
Route 3:
<ul>
<li>Indian bidders must have a technical collaboration agreement, a manufacturing license, or be part of a joint venture with a battery manufacturer that meets the criteria outlined in Route 1.</li>
<li>Bidders must submit the collaboration/license agreement or joint venture documents valid for at least the entire O&amp;M period.</li>
<li>Additionally, an undertaking must be submitted, jointly executed by the bidder and the technology provider or joint venture partner, ensuring full performance of the contract.</li>
</ul>
Route 4:
<ul>
<li>Bidders must have completed an industrial project in the past ten years in the power, steel, oil and gas, petrochemical, fertilizer, cement, coal mining, or other process industries, valued at ₹3.06 billion (~$37 million) or more in a single project. This project must have operated for at least one year before the bid opening.</li>
<li>Bidders must also have completed at least one electrical substation of 33 kV or higher voltage, consisting of equipment like circuit breakers and power transformers, which must have been operational for at least one year.</li>
</ul>
The bidders’ average annual turnover for the last three financial years must not be less than ₹3.06 billion (~$37 million).
As of the last financial year, their net worth should be at least 100% of their paid-up share capital. If this requirement is unmet, it can be fulfilled through the net worth of their subsidiaries, holding companies, or subsidiaries of their holding companies.

The scope of work encompasses the construction of both ground-mounted and floating solar installations, as well as the establishment of a power evacuation system, which includes the procurement and installation of PV modules within the specified area.
The last date for the submission of bids is October 20, 2023. Bids will be opened on the same day.
The successful bidder also has to provide three years of operation and maintenance services for the solar project and an annual maintenance contract for essential equipment.
The cost of the bidding document is ₹22,500 (~$270), and bidders have to submit an earnest money deposit of ₹100 million (~$1.2 million).
Bidders must have experience in designing, supplying, erecting, and commissioning solar photovoltaic grid-connected power projects with a total capacity of 40 MW or more.
One of these projects must have had a capacity of 10 MW or higher and operate successfully for at least six months before the date of the technical and commercial bid opening.
Alternatively, bidders should have developed grid-connected solar projects with a cumulative capacity of 40 MW or higher, including at least one project with a capacity of 10 MW or more, which has been in successful operation for at least six months before the bid opening.
Additionally, in the last ten years, bidders should have completed an industrial project in the power, steel, oil and gas, petrochemical, fertilizer, cement, coal mining, or any other process industry, either as a developer or EPC contractor, with a value of at least ₹2.25 billion (~$27 million).
This project should have been in successful operation for at least one year before the date of the technical and commercial bid opening.
Bidders should also have executed at least one electrical substation with a voltage level of 33 kV or higher, containing equipment like 33kV or higher circuit breakers and power transformers, as a developer or EPC contractor. The substation should have been in operation for at least one year before the bid opening.
The average annual turnover of the bidders for the three most recent financial years must not be less than ₹2.25 billion (~$27 million).
Their net worth as of the last day of the preceding financial year should be equal to or greater than 100% of the bidder&#8217;s paid-up share capital.

NTPC <a href="https://www.bseindia.com/xml-data/corpfiling/AttachLive/d2c972d6-0f4f-46c0-a262-5e585e1a0179.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> that the last 20 MW capacity out of the 100 MW Ramagundam floating solar project had been commissioned. With this, the standalone installed and commercial capacity of NTPC has grown to 54.77 GW. The NTPC group’s installed and commercial capacity is now 69.13 GW.
ReNew Power, in partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and Self-Employed Women’s Association of India (SEWA), <a href="https://renewpower.in/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/FINAL_ReNew-SEWA-UNEP-Salt-pan-project-launch-Press-Release_30062022.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">launched</a> a transformative initiative named ‘Project Surya’ to train low-income women salt pan workers to work in the renewable industry. Under the program, women salt pan workers, who work in the physically challenging and extreme temperatures of the remote Rann of Kutch marshes in Gujarat, will be trained as solar panel and solar pump technicians. This unique and inclusive project will address multiple sustainable development goals under one umbrella, including no poverty, gender equality, affordable and clean energy, decent work, economic growth, and climate action.
Impact Clean Power Technology has <a href="https://icpt.pl/en/impact-will-build-gigafactoryx-it-will-become-one-of-the-largest-producers-of-battery-systems-for-transportation-in-europe/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">started</a> the construction of a modern battery systems factory – GigafactoryX – for the public transport, railroad sector, and stationary energy storage for both the energy sector and individual users. The investment will multiply the company’s production capacity up to 5 GWh per year. The GigafactoryX project assumes the construction of a giant battery factory for electric vehicles. The start of production has been planned for 2024 and will guarantee the security of the supply of battery systems for the world’s largest brands. The new production lines will be highly automated, affecting not only production efficiency and the quality of produced batteries but also reducing carbon dioxide emissions.
Dutch Minister for Climate and Energy Rob Jetten <a href="https://www.gasunie.nl/en/news/gasunie-starts-construction-of-national-hydrogen-network-in-the-netherlands" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> plans for the construction of a national transport network for hydrogen. Gasunie will develop the hydrogen network in the Netherlands in the coming years, after which it will assume the role of a transmission system operator. Gasunie will also play an important role in the storage and import of hydrogen. Due to the expected growth in offshore hydrogen production in the North Sea, the minister will investigate whether Gasunie can also fulfill the role of grid operator at sea.
Voltalia, an international player in renewable energies, has <a href="https://www.voltalia.com/news-releases/news-release-details/albania-voltalia-launches-construction-karavasta-project-largest" target="_blank" rel="noopener">launched</a> the construction of the Karavasta site, a 140 MW photovoltaic project. The 140 MW project was awarded to Voltalia by the Albanian Council of Ministers in 2020, following the competitive bidding process launched by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. According to the terms of the tender, Karavasta will sell 50% of the electricity through a 15-year sales contract to the Albanian public operator, while the remaining will be sold through long-term contracts to private operators. The project is expected to be commissioned in the second half of 2023.

Daily News Wrap-Up: NTPC Commissions 100 MW Floating Solar Project at Ramagundam

<a href="https://www.ntpc.co.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NTPC Limited</a> has issued an invitation for bids (IFB) for the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of a grid-connected battery energy storage system (BESS) with 10 MW and 40 MWh rated AC discharge capacity at a 33KV switchgear interconnection point in Ramagundam, Telangana.
The BESS must comprise of battery system, battery management system, energy management system and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system, power conversion system, protection system, communication system, auxiliary power system, monitoring and control system, firefighting, remote control and monitoring, and all other associated materials and accessories necessary for trouble-free operation and maintenance of the BESS system.
Successful bidders also must undertake all associated electrical and civil works required for grid interaction. They must also provide comprehensive operation and maintenance works throughout the project&#8217;s service life.
The cost of the bid documents is ₹22,500 (~$294). As bid security, bidders must pay ₹10 million (~$130,772).
The last day to submit the bids is May 23, 2022. The bids will be opened on the same day.
Bidders have multiple routes to achieve the technical criteria.
For the first route, bidders should have manufactured and supplied batteries for grid-interactive BESS of cumulative installed capacity of a minimum of 6 MW/6 MWh. At least one grid-interactive BESS should be of a minimum of 2 MW/2 MWh capacity. The reference grid-interactive BESS of a minimum 2 MW/2 MWh capacity must have been successfully operating for at least six months before the techno-commercial bid opening date.
For the second route, bidders could have supplied, installed, and commissioned grid-interactive BESS of cumulative installed capacity of a minimum of 6 MW/6 MWh. At least one grid-interactive BESS should be of a minimum 2 MW/2 MWh capacity. The reference grid-interactive BESS of a minimum 2 MW/2 MWh capacity must have been successfully operating for at least six months before the techno-commercial bid opening date.
For the third route, bidders should have executed in the last ten years an industrial project either as a developer or as an EPC contractor in power, steel, oil and gas, petrochemical, or any other process industry, of a value not less than ₹720 million (~$9.80 million) in a single project or single work respectively. The reference project must be in successful operation for at least one year before the techno-commercial bid opening date. Bidder must have also executed at least one electrical substation of minimum 33 kV voltage level, consisting of equipment such as 33kV or above voltage level circuit breakers and power transformer, either as a developer or as an EPC contractor. The electrical substation must also be in successful operation for at least one year before the techno-commercial bid opening date.
As of the techno-commercial bid opening date, bidders must have an average annual turnover of ₹720 million (~$9.80 million) in the last three financial years. The net worth of the bidders as of the last day of the preceding financial year should not be less than 100% of the bidders&#8217; paid-up share capital.

NTPC Issues EPC Tender for 10 MW/40 MWh Battery Energy Storage System in Ramagundam

<a href="https://www.ntpc.co.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NTPC Limited</a> has invited bids for the appointment of a qualified coordinating agency (QCA) for the floating solar project at its thermal power plant in Ramagundam, Telangana.
The QCA is responsible for forecasting, scheduling, and settling deviation charges for solar generators with the system operator.
The last date to submit the bids is March 14, 2022. Bids will be opened on March 16.
Interested bidders will not have to submit any earnest money deposit to participate in the bidding process.
The successful bidder will have to furnish an amount equivalent to 3% of the contract value as the performance bank guarantee.
The contract period will be for 12 months from the date of the award of the contract order.
Scope of work
The selected agency will deliver a day-ahead forecast with a granularity of 15 minutes of the average expected generation for the pooling station or a pooled capacity.
The QCA will have to deliver up to 16 intra-day forecasts with a granularity of 15 minutes of the average expected generation for the generating station for a pooled capacity.
Also, it will deliver seven-day-ahead forecasts with a granularity of 15 minutes of average expected generation or as required by the applicable regulations.
NTPC will provide the static, real‐time generation, and available capacity data of the 10 MW solar project.
The QCA will provide day‐ahead,  intra‐day, and week-ahead schedules for the 10 MW solar project to the regional load despatch center (RLDC) or state load despatch center (SLDC) as required under the DSM regulations.
The agency will maintain detailed records of actual generation data as provided through the SCADA system or meter. The methodology for de-pooling will be applicable as agreed and communicated to the agency.
After receiving the required information, the QCA will coordinate with the relevant authority to reconcile energy accounts with actual generation and scheduled generation. If any discrepancy is observed, the agency should inform NTPC within three working days and seven days to the relevant authority. Further, if any dispute arises during the de-pooling process, such a dispute will be resolved with a mutual agreement of the party and other generators connected to the pooling station or part of the pooled capacity per the dispute resolution mechanism.
NTPC has stated that preference will be given to micro and small enterprise (MSE) suppliers.
Any bidder from a country that shares a land border with India will be eligible to bid in this tender only if it is registered with the competent authority.
