The lowest tariff discovered in wind energy auctions in 2022 was ₹2.84 (~$0.036)/kWh, an increase of nearly 5.5% compared to the lowest tariff of ₹2.69 (~$0.038)/kWh quoted in the Tranche XI auction in September last year.

Here are the four lowest wind tariffs discovered in auctions in 2022:

#1 Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam declared several winners in its auction to purchase power from 500 MW of grid-connected wind power projects (Phase-III). The successful bidders included Gujarat State Electricity Corporation for 70 MW at a tariff of ₹2.84 (~$0.036)/kWh, Rajpur Renewables (EDF Renewables) for 30 MW at ₹2.90 (~$0.035)/kWh, Juniper Green Energy for 40 MW at ₹2.95 (~$0.036)/kWh, and Solarcraft Power India 3 (Blupine) for 100 MW at ₹2.96 (~$0.036)/kWh.

Also, TEQ Green Power XII (O2 Power) won 70 MW and ACME Pokhran Solar 50 MW by quoting ₹2.90 (~$0.035)/kWh each. Project Twelve Renewable Power (Ayana) won 140 MW capacity out of the bid capacity of 200 MW by quoting ₹2.90 (~$0.035)/kWh.

Three lowest hybrid tariffs discovered in hybrid auctions in 2022

The lowest tariff discovered in wind-solar hybrid auctions came in at ₹2.53 (~$0.033)/kWh, which was 8% higher than the lowest bid of ₹2.34 (~$0.031)/kWh discovered in the Tranche-IV auction held in August last year.

The three lowest tariffs in 2022:

#1 Tata Power, Amp Energy, and NTPC quoted ₹2.53 (~$0.033)/kWh each to win 600 MW, 450 MW, and 120 MW in SECI’s auction to set up 1,200 MW interstate transmission system-connected hybrid projects (Tranche-V) across India. SJVN had offered ₹2.54 (~$0.034)/kWh for 200 MW but was only awarded 30 MW under the bucket-filling method.
