Bids Invited for a 20 MW Solar Project at GETCO Substation in Gujarat

Gujarat State Electricity Corporation (GSECL) has invited bids for installing and commissioning a 20 MW grid-connected solar power project around the Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation (GETCO) substation at Itiya in the Bhavnagar district of Gujarat.
The successful bidder will also have to take care of the operation and maintenance of the project for five years.
The last date to submit the bids online is September 3, 2022. Bids will be opened on September 9.
The estimated cost of the tender is ₹800 million (~$10.09 million).
Bidders will have to submit ₹8 million (~$100,888) as an earnest money deposit. The successful bidder should submit a security deposit-cum-performance bank guarantee of 5% of the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract price within seven days, along with the acceptance of the letter of intent.
The project must be completed within 12 months from the project award.
Bidders should have designed, supplied, erected, supervised, and commissioned grid-connected solar power projects of a cumulative installed capacity of 20% or higher of the total bid capacity. At least one plant should have been 5% or higher of the total bid capacity. Only projects of a minimum 1 MW capacity will be considered to meet the eligibility criteria.
The reference project of minimum capacity as mentioned above for 5% must have been in operation for at least six months before the bid opening date.
Bidders should have a cumulative turnover of at least ₹560 million (~$7.06 million) in the last three financial years
Their net worth should be positive during the last financial year.
If a bidder is a 100% subsidiary company and does not satisfy the annual turnover criteria, its holding company would be required to meet the stipulated turnover requirements.
The minimum capacity utilization factor for the first year should be 23%.
All solar modules should carry a performance warranty of >90% during the first ten years and >80% during the next 15 years.
In May this year, GSECL invited bids for the design, engineering, supply, procurement, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning of a 14 MW grid-connected solar power project at the Vasundhara substation of GETCO in the Morbi district of Gujarat.
Earlier, GSECL had invited bids for the design, engineering, supply, procurement, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning of 27 MW of grid-connected solar power projects around the substations of GETCO at Sitagadh (15 MW) and Kuntalpur (12 MW) in the Surendranagar district of Gujarat.
According to Mercom’s India Solar Tender Tracker, GSECL has issued EPC tenders for 787.5 MW of solar capacity to date.
