<p>The <a href="https://www.ntpc.co.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">National Thermal Power Corporation</a> (NTPC) has issued an enlistment tender for the supply of Balance of System (BoS) package for its solar PV projects.</p>
<p>The last date for the submission of bids is October 3, 2019.</p>
<p>The scope of work includes the design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, and commissioning of solar projects, excluding the supply of solar PV modules. It also includes the construction of foundation and module mounting structures for solar panels as per the design given by NTPC.</p>
<p>The successful bidder will also have to construct all associated electrical and civil works required for interfacing the projects with the grid.</p>
<p>According to the NTPC, interested bidders should have developed and commissioned BoS of solar power projects before.  These projects should have a cumulative installed capacity of 40 MW or more, out of which, at least one project should be of 10 MW capacity or above. As per the tender specifications, in the last ten years, the bidders should have executed an industrial project either as a developer or as engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor.</p>
<p>As far as the financial criteria are concerned, the average turnover of the bidder should not be less than ₹800 million (~$11.2 million) during the last three financial years (FY). Further, the net worth of the bidder should not be less than 100% of bidder’s paid-up share capital.</p>
<p>Recently, another public sector enterprise, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (<a href="http://www.bhel.com/dynamic_files/tender_files/20190624/NIT_47117/nit-sccl-bos_rgm-yld-mng-1561375501.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">BHEL</a>), issued a tender for the supply of balance of system items for its <a href="https://mercomindia.com/bhel-tenders-bos-solar-projects/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">solar PV projects aggregating 119 MW</a> at Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL), located in Telangana.</p>
<p>In August 2019, <a href="https://mercomindia.com/ntpc-tender-solar-across-india/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Mercom</a> had reported that NTPC issued a tender to set up 1,200 MW of interstate transmission system (ISTS) connected solar projects.</p>
