NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam (NVVN) has issued a tender to empanel engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractors for developing rooftop and ground-mounted solar projects of up to 20 MW per vendor.

Bids must be submitted by July 23, 2025. Bids will be opened on July 24.

The empanelment will be valid for one year.

The scope of work entails the design, engineering, supply, transportation, unloading, storage, installation, testing, and commissioning of the solar projects. It also involves undertaking all the associated electrical and civil works.

Selected bidders must provide remote monitoring systems, including all necessary hardware and software, to enable data transfer to NVVN’s centralized solar energy data monitoring platform for rooftop systems.

The scope of work comprises constructing a central monitoring and control station, which will include a storeroom and switchgear, supervisory control and data acquisition, inverter, and a battery room, for the ground-mounted projects.

They must also provide operation and maintenance for the projects, including electrical equipment, consumables, and spare parts for ten years.

Bidders must fulfill any of the following criteria:

  • They must have designed, engineered, supplied, erected or supervised the erection, and commissioned or supervised the commissioning of solar projects with a minimum installed capacity of 400 kW. At least one of these projects must have had a minimum 40 kW capacity. The 40 kW project must have been operational for at least six months before the bid submission deadline
  • They must have completed solar projects with a minimum installed capacity of 400 kW as a developer. At least one of these projects must have had a minimum 40 kW capacity. The 40 kW project must have been operational for at least six months before the bid submission deadline
  • They must have executed an industrial project worth ₹40 million (~$468,529) in the power, steel, oil and gas, petrochemicals, fertilizers, cement, coal mining, or other process industries within the last ten years as a developer or EPC contractor. The project must have been operational for at least one year before the bid opening date

Bidders must have also executed at least one electrical substation of a minimum 11 kV voltage level as a developer or EPC contractor. The substation must have consisted of equipment such as 11 kV or above voltage level circuit breakers and a power transformer. It must have been operational for at least one year.

Bidders must have a minimum net worth of 100% of their paid-up share capital in the previous financial year.

In May of this year, NVVN invited bids for installing 3.45 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar projects at multiple buildings across three districts in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
