<p>The Power and Electricity Department (<a href="https://power.mizoram.gov.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">P&amp;ED</a>) of Mizoram has floated a tender for 10 MW of grid-connected solar PV power projects at various locations in the state.</p>
<p>The project will be developed on a Build-Own-Operate (BOO) basis. The last date for the submission of bids is May 28, 2020. Interested bidders will have to submit an amount of ₹400,000 (~$5,305)/MW of the offered capacity as the earnest money deposit (EMD).</p>
<p>As per the documents, the capacity of each solar project will be a minimum of 5 MW. An interested bidder can apply for a minimum of 5 MW per location, while the maximum capacity of the project will be 10 MW. The capacity of the solar PV project applied will be in multiples of 5 MW.</p>
<p>To take part in the bidding process, the bidder must meet the qualification requirement as a bidding company or as a bidding consortium with one member acting as the lead member of the bidding consortium. A foreign company can also take part in the bidding process provided it forms an Indian company registered. Any individual, firm, society, or registered company, including public utilities, will also be eligible for setting up a solar power project and sale of power to distribution licensees or the electricity department.</p>
<p>Regarding the financial eligibility, the net worth of the bidder should be at least equal to the value calculated at the rate of ₹10.7 million (~$141,899)/MW of the capacity offered by the bidder.</p>
<p>Recently, the <a href="https://power.mizoram.gov.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">P&amp;ED</a> of Mizoram <a href="https://mercomindia.com/mizoram-empanelment-tender-rooftop-solar/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">issued</a> an empanelment tender for 500 kW of grid-connected rooftop solar PV power projects. The scope of work includes the design, manufacture, testing, supply, installation, and commissioning of the rooftop solar projects in the state. The project will be developed under the capital expenditure (CAPEX) model.</p>
<p>According to the data released by the Central Electricity Authority (<a href="http://cea.nic.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">CEA</a>), India’s power supply deficit <a href="https://mercomindia.com/india-power-supply-deficit-fy-2019-20/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">stood</a> at 0.5% at the end of March for the financial year 2019-20, and the peak power deficit stood at 0.7%. Similar to last year, the northeastern region recorded the highest power supply deficit of 3.7%, followed by 1.4% for the northern region.</p>
<p>Earlier, Mercom had reported that the Mizoram Power Plant Development Corporation (MPPDC) had <a href="https://mercomindia.com/mizoram-tender-solar-inverter-charger/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">issued</a> a tender for the procurement of 2,300 solar inverter chargers. The chargers were to be used for charging the batteries of existing inverters at MPPDC power station, located in Chakhang, which falls under Saiha district of Mizoram.</p>
