					</table><p>Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (<a href="https://mmrcl.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">MMRC</a>) has invited bids to install 2.8 MW of rooftop solar systems and associated support structure works on Aarey station and depot buildings of the Mumbai Metro Line 3 project.</p>
<p>The scope of work includes site survey, investigation, design, engineering, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of rooftop solar systems within twelve months. The renewable energy service company (RESCO) model will be used for the projects.</p>
<p>The successful bidder must also provide comprehensive operations and maintenance (O&amp;M) services for 25 years.</p>
<p>The last date to submit the bids is April 25, 2024. Bids will be opened the next day.</p>
<p>Bidders must furnish a bid security of ₹2 million (~$24,125).</p>
<p>The successful bidder must submit ₹10.08 million (~$121,591) as performance security.</p>
<p>The size of each project may be in the range of 5 kW to 1 MW or more.</p>
<p>Bidders should have experience in installing and commissioning solar power projects. Specifically, they must have completed grid-connected solar projects of at least 3 MW in total capacity during the last ten years. At least one of the projects should be of 750 kW.</p>
<p>Additionally, bidders must have completed a rooftop solar project of a minimum of 1 MW during the last ten years.</p>
<p>Within the last three financial years, they should have an annual turnover of at least ₹150 million (~$1.8 million) as total certified payments received for contracts in progress or completed.</p>
<p>The bidder needs to show that their available money after subtracting what they owe for existing contracts is at least ₹15 million (~$180,939).</p>
<p>The projects should comprise solar crystalline modules of a minimum of 340Wp and above wattage.</p>
<p>The predicted electrical degradation of power generated should not exceed 20% of the minimum rated power over the 25-year period and not more than 10% after the first ten-year period of the full rated original output.</p>
<p>Last April, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/mumbai-metropolitan-mw-rooftop-solar-projects/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids to install rooftop solar power projects of 7.1 MW at the stations and sites of the Mumbai metro rail project.</p>

<p>The successful bidder must provide comprehensive operations and maintenance (O&amp;M) services for 25 years.</p>
<p>The last date to submit the bids is May 24, 2023. Bids will be opened the next day.</p>
<p>The renewable energy service company (RESCO) model will be used for the project. The model allows ownership for the developers while the consumer is required to pay only for the energy produced.</p>
<p>The solar power generated will be utilized for the station&#8217;s auxiliary and traction power needs. Any surplus solar power produced will be exported to the grid.</p>
<p>Bidders must pay a tender fee of ₹3000 (~$36.61) and furnish ₹1.3 million (~$16,931) as a security amount.</p>
<p>They must apply for 100% of tendered capacity for selected sites.</p>
<p>Each rooftop project may vary in size for each station or depot, ranging from 100 kW to 800 kW or more. The solar power will be consumed locally by linking it to the designated LT breaker.</p>
<p>LT breaker is a low-tension breaker used in electrical systems to protect against overloading and short circuits.</p>
<p>The work should be completed within 15 months from the Letter of Award.</p>
<p>Bidders should have experience in installing and commissioning solar power projects. Specifically, they must have completed grid-connected solar projects of at least 3.55 MW in total capacity during the last 10 years.</p>
<p>Additionally, bidders must have completed a rooftop solar project of a minimum of 2.84 MW during the last 10 years.</p>
<p>They should have an annual turnover of at least ₹332.2 million (~$4 million) in any one of the last 5 financial years.</p>
<p>Over the past few years, several metro projects throughout India have installed solar projects on the ground and rooftops of their stations and depots.</p>
<p>Recently, MMRDA <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/rooftop-solar-mumbai-monorail-stations" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids to install 2 MW of rooftop solar systems at Mumbai Monorail Project stations and sites.</p>

Mumbai Metropolitan Authority Invites Bids for 7 MW Rooftop Solar Projects

<p>The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has issued a tender for 7.63 MW of rooftop solar PV projects at the site of Mumbai Metro Rail project line 7 and 2A. The project will be developed under Renewable Energy Service Companies (RESCO) model.</p>
<p>The brief scope of work includes the supply, design, engineering, manufacturing, storage, civil work, erection of suitable structure, testing and commissioning of the project. The successful bidder will also have to provide operations and maintenance (O&amp;M) for 25 years.</p>
<p>The last date for bid submission is March 15, 2019. The tender will open on March 18, 2019.</p>
<p>To be eligible to bid for the project, a bidder should have commissioned grid-connected solar projects of minimum 3.815 MW in the last ten years or installed rooftop solar of minimum 0.95 MW in the last 10 years.</p>
<p>The annual turnover of the bidder in any one of the last five financial year should be more than or equal to ₹152.6 million (~$2.14 million).</p>
<p><a href="https://mercomindia.com/mumbai-metro-rooftop-solar-commissioned/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Recently,</a> Mumbai Metro One commissioned a 612 kW rooftop solar power installation at its D.N. Nagar depot, located in Andheri West. The installation was set up under the RESCO model and a power purchase agreement (PPA) was signed with the vendors for a period of 25 years.</p>
<p><a href="https://mercomindia.com/tender-solar-2-mw-mumbai-monorail/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">In December 2018</a>, MMRDA also tendered 2 MW of rooftop solar projects to be developed atop Mumbai monorail stations and sites.</p>
<p>Mumbai has seen an increasing number of rooftop solar installations in the past with Mercom consistently reporting on them. A few months ago, <a href="https://mercomindia.com/st-xaviers-school-mumbai-rooftop-solar/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">St Xavier’s High School in Mumbai</a> installed a 35 kW grid-connected rooftop solar project at its premises. The project has been commissioned by <a href="https://www.itsmysun.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">MYSUN</a>, a rooftop solar solutions and services company.</p>
<p>Then in August 2018, <a href="https://www.tatapowersolar.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Tata Power Solar</a>, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Power, commissioned a 820.8 kW solar rooftop system at the Cricket Club of India (CCI), located in Mumbai. This is the world’s largest rooftop installation atop a <a href="https://mercomindia.com/tata-power-solar-rooftop-cricket-club-india/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">cricket stadium</a>, as announced by the company.</p>

Tender Announced for 7.63 MW of Rooftop Solar Projects for Mumbai Metro

<p>Mumbai Metro One, promoted by Reliance Infrastructure, has commissioned a 612 kW rooftop solar power installation at its D.N. Nagar depot, located in Andheri West.</p>
<p>According to IANS, the installation, consisting of 2,000 rooftop solar panels, is expected to generate 0.9 million units of energy annually. This will fulfill 25 percent of the auxiliary energy demand of the depot and save approximately ₹5 million (~$71,000) per annum.</p>
<p>The installation, set up under the Renewable Energy Service Company (RESCO) model, has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with vendors for a period of 25 years. The developer will also be responsible for its operations and maintenance (O&amp;M) services for the entire period.</p>
<p>“We are committed to our ‘go green, go clean initiative’. After successful installation and commissioning of solar panels on 12 metro stations, we are happy to install a new solar project at our metro depot. In the long run, we wish to gradually increase our use of green energy,” an MMOPL spokesperson, told IANS.</p>
<p>The total installed capacity of Mumbai Metro One including all 12 stations and depot campus is around 3 MW to date.</p>
