					</table><p>NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam (<a href="https://www.nvvn.co.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NVVN</a>) has issued a tender for an 8 MW grid-connected rooftop solar power project at the Defence Research and Development Organisation (<a href="https://www.drdo.gov.in/drdo/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">DRDO</a>) Hyderabad campus.</p>
<p>Bids must be submitted by February 19, 2025. Bids will be opened on February 20.</p>
<p>Bidders must pay an earnest money deposit of ₹5 million (~$57,704).</p>
<p>The project’s scope of work entails providing and installing project equipment and completing civil and associated works. It also involves engineering, designing, manufacturing, testing, and commissioning the project.</p>
<p>Selected bidders must furnish a performance security of 10% of the contract value within 28 days of the notification of award. They must also submit a security deposit of 0.1 x G x R, where G is the annual power generation based on the capacity utilization factor for that year, and R is ₹5 (~$0.058)/kWh.</p>
<p>Successful bidders must provide operation and maintenance services for 10 years from the project’s completion.</p>
<p>The project must be completed within 22.5 months from the notification of award.</p>
<p>Bidders must be Class-I or Class-II local suppliers.</p>
<p>They must submit details of their gross turnover during the last three financial years and a chartered accountant-certified balance sheet and profit and loss account for the past three years.</p>
<p>Bidders from countries sharing a land border with India can apply, provided they are registered with the competent authorities. Indian bidders having transfer of technology agreements with entities from these countries must also be registered with the same authorities.</p>
<p>These requirements do not apply to bidders from countries that have received lines of credit or are involved in development projects with the Indian government.</p>

<p><strong>Tender 1- Delhi (1.3 MW) </strong></p>
<p>The tender for DRDO Delhi is for a 1.3 MW grid-connected rooftop solar power project.</p>
<p>Bids must be submitted by February 18, 2025. Bids will be opened on February 19.</p>
<p>Bidders must furnish a bid security of ₹500,000 (~$6,050).</p>
<p><strong>Tender 2- Bengaluru (2.7 MW)</strong></p>
<p>The tender for DRDO Bengaluru is for a 2.7 MW grid-connected rooftop solar power project.</p>
<p>Bids must be submitted by February 18, 2025. Bids will be opened on February 19.</p>
<p>Bidders must submit a bid security of ₹2 million (~$24,200).</p>
<p>The scope of work for both projects include design, engineering, supply, civil construction, erection, testing, commissioning, and grid interfacing.</p>
<p>Selected bidders must also secure approvals from distribution licensees and the chief electrical inspector for connecting the project to existing electrical loads.</p>
<p>They must also install suitable solar module cleaning systems and remote monitoring systems for performance tracking.</p>
<p>Successful bidders must comply with the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers.</p>
<p>Bidders must stipulate eligibility for Class-I and Class-II local suppliers per the Public Procurement (Preference to Make in India) Order, 2017, issued by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade.</p>
<p>In November 2024, NVVN <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/nvvn-tenders-7-2-mw-rooftop-solar-project-for-assam-rifles" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids for grid-connected rooftop solar systems with a cumulative capacity of 7.2 MW in 26 buildings under Assam Rifles in Nagaland, Manipur, and Assam.</p>
<p>In October 2024, NVVN <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/nvvn-tenders-4-73-mw-rooftop-solar-systems-for-bhakra-beas-management-board" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids to develop 4.73 MW grid-connected rooftop solar systems at various locations under the Bhakra Beas Management Board.</p>

					</table><p>Here are some noteworthy cleantech announcements of the day from around the world:</p>
<p>Cleantech Solar<strong>, a renewable energy solutions provider, <a href="https://cleantechsolar.com/cleantech-solar-powers-up-42-mwp-solar-pv-projects-for-a-global-metal-components-manufacturer-at-its-solar-parks-across-maharashtra-with-a-total-capacity-of-300-mwp/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">commissioned</a> 42 MW of solar power projects for a global metal components manufacturer at its 300 MW solar park in Maharashtra.</strong> The collaboration between Cleantech Solar and the company is expected to produce over 1.5 TWh of clean energy, equivalent to a reduction of approximately 1,383 kilotons of CO2 emissions, over the course of the project. Cleantech Solar was responsible for designing, financing, and building the solar projects and will continue to operate and maintain them for the duration of the agreement.</p>
<p><strong>Tata Power Renewable Energy (</strong><a href="https://www.tatapowerrenewables.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>TPREL</strong></a><strong>), a subsidiary of Tata Power, received the letter of award from Tata Power Delhi Distribution (</strong><a href="https://www.tatapower-ddl.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Tata Power-DDL</strong></a><strong>) to build a 255 MW wind and solar hybrid power project in Karnataka.</strong> The project is expected to be completed within 24 months from the date the power purchase agreement is signed. The electricity generated would be provided to Tata Power-DDL, which supplies power to over seven million people in North Delhi. The award letter specifies that the project will have a capacity of 85 MW solar and 170 MW wind, with a greenshoe option to add an additional 85 MW solar and 170 MW wind capacity.</p>
<p><strong>Tata Motors </strong><a href="https://www.tatamotors.com/press/delhi-transport-corporation-signs-a-definitive-agreement-with-tata-motors-subsidiary-for-operating-1500-electric-buses/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>announced</strong></a><strong> that the Delhi Transport Corporation had signed a contract with its wholly-owned subsidiary, TML CV Mobility Solutions, to operate 1,500 electric buses in New Delhi.</strong> Under the terms of the agreement, TML CV Mobility Solutions would provide, operate, and maintain 1,500 12-meter low-floor air-conditioned electric buses for 12 years. To date, Tata Motors has deployed over 730 electric buses in various cities across India.</p>
<p><strong>The Ministry of Power </strong><a href="https://www.pib.gov.in/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=1886819" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>entered</strong></a><strong> into an agreement with the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) to implement an early warning system for hydroelectric projects and power stations that are at risk.</strong> The Ministry of Power and the DRDO will work together to create measures to protect projects against avalanches, landslides, glaciers, glacial lakes, and other natural hazards. The DRDO&#8217;s expertise would be used to develop the warning system for projects and stations in mountainous areas. The DRDO and the project developers will collaborate to develop specific tasks and plans based on the broad understanding outlined in the memorandum of understanding.</p>


Daily News Wrap-Up: Cleantech Solar Commissions 42 MW Solar Projects

<p>The Defense Research and Development Organization’s (<a href="https://www.drdo.gov.in/home" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">DRDO</a>) Estate Management Unit has issued a notice inviting tender (NIT) for the operation and maintenance (O&amp;M) of a 1 MW solar power project at the Research Center Imarat, Hyderabad.</p>
<p>The scope of work includes the O&amp;M of the 1 MW solar power project, including the maintenance of inverters and transformers. The work will also include the up-keeping of solar modules and the premises.</p>
<p>The last date for the submission of bids is September 17, 2020, and the opening of bids will take place on September 18, 2020. The estimated cost of the work is ₹715,600 (~$9,677) per year.</p>
<p>Interested bidders will have to submit an amount of ₹14,312 (~$193.5) as the earnest money deposit (EMD). Firms registered under Micro and Small Enterprises will be exempted from depositing the EMD and the tender cost. The duration of the entire work under this contract will be 12 months from the date of commencement of work and can be further extended on mutual agreement.</p>
<p>To take part in the bidding process, the bidder should be enlisted with the ED-A category or above of the Directorate of Civil Works and Estates (DCWE), New Delhi. Or, they could be enlisted in the EM-1 category or above with the Chief Construction Engineer (R&amp;D) Estates, Hyderabad.</p>
<p>In December last year, the Ordnance Factory Varangaon <a href="https://mercomindia.com/defense-ordnance-factory-maharashtra-eoi/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">invited</a> bids for 5 MW of solar capacity at its site located in the Jalgaon district of Maharashtra. The Ordnance Factory, Varangaon, is a vital defense production unit of the ammunition group under the Ordnance Factory Board in Kolkata, under the Ministry of Defense.</p>
<p>Previously, Mercom had <a href="https://mercomindia.com/ordnance-factory-uttar-pradesh-eoi-solar/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">reported</a> that the Muradnagar Ordnance Factory also invited an expression of interest from solar power developers for installing a solar project of 15 MW capacity at its premises in Uttar Pradesh.</p>
<p>In December 2019, Military Engineer Services <a href="https://mercomindia.com/military-engineer-services-tender-rooftop-solar-tamil-nadu/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">issued</a> a tender for a 500 kW rooftop solar power project at Indian Naval Air Station at Rajali, Arakkonam in Tamil Nadu.</p>
