<p>India has crossed 25 GW in terms of total installed solar capacity, inching its way closer to the 2022 target of 100 GW.</p>
<p>In the first half of 2018, about  5 GW of solar capacity was installed across the country including both large-scale and rooftop solar.</p>
<p>According to  <a href="https://mercomindia.com/research/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mercom India Research</a> approximately 1 MW of solar PV capacity was installed every hour in India in the first half of 2018.</p>
<p>For the second year in a row solar is the leading new power source added in India.</p>
