The <a href="http://www.nmrcnoida.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Noida Metro Rail Corporation</a> (NMRC) Limited has floated a tender to set up charging stations for electric vehicles along the Noida-Greater Noida Metro Corridor.
The last date for the submission of bids is November 7, 2019, while the pre-submission meeting has been scheduled for October 24, 2019.
The scope of work includes the installation, operation, and maintenance of public charging stations (PCS), fast charging stations, battery charging stations (BCS), or battery swapping facilities (BSF) along the Noida-Greater Noida Metro Corridor.
According to the NMRC, every public charging station will have an exclusive transformer with all the related substation equipment, including safety appliance, a 33/11 kV line/cables with associated equipment required for line termination, or metering.
The public charging stations will also have one or more electric kiosks with the installation of all the charger models—fast, moderate, and slow.
The successful bidder will also be responsible for providing a fast charging facility at the public charging station. The bidder is expected to use type-tested electric vehicle service equipment for the project.
As per the NMRC, the public charging station providers are free to create charging hubs and to install more kiosks in addition to the numbers prescribed.
As far as the financial eligibility is concerned, the interested bidders should have a minimum average annual turnover of ₹5 million (~$70,592) during the last three financial years (FY), and the bidders’ net worth should be ₹0.5 million (~$7,040).
Previously, Mercom had reported that the Indian Oil Corporation joined hands with the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) to establish <a href="https://mercomindia.com/indian-oil-ntpc-ev-charging-stations-noida/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">electric vehicle charging stations</a> in Greater Noida.
<a href="https://mercomindia.com/reil-tender-solar-ev-charging-stations/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">In August 2019</a>, Rajasthan Electronics and Instruments Limited (REIL) issued a notice inviting tender for 25 units of 30 kW (25*30=750 kW) grid-connected solar power projects, either rooftop or ground-mounted, for electric vehicle charging stations in selected highways or cities. The selected highways and cities include Delhi-Jaipur-Agra-Delhi highway and Mumbai-Pune-Mumbai highway.
To facilitate the usage of <a href="https://mercomindia.com/new-guidelines-charging-stations-highways/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">electric vehicles</a> in the country, Union Power Minister R.K. Singh recently approved the amendments in electric vehicle charging guidelines and specifications. The revised guidelines and specifications for charging infrastructure will supersede the earlier guidelines issued by the Ministry of Power.
