					</table><p>Central Mine Planning &amp; Design Institute (<a href="https://www.cmpdi.co.in/en" target="_blank" rel="noopener">CMPDI</a>), a subsidiary of <a href="https://www.coalindia.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Coal India</a>, has invited bids to commission a 5 MW grid-connected floating solar project for Eastern Coalfields at the quarry sump of Dalmia OCP Salanpur Area in West Bengal.</p>
<p>The project should be commissioned within 270 days of receiving the work order. The developer must also oversee the project&#8217;s operation and maintenance for five years.</p>
<p>The estimated tender value is ₹310.14 million (~$3.69 million).</p>
<p>The last day to submit the bids is October 24, 2024. Bids will be opened on the next day.</p>
<p>Bidders must submit an earnest money deposit of ₹3.87 million (~$46,094).</p>
<p>The selected bidder must furnish 5% of the contract amount as a performance security within 21 days of the letter of award being issued.</p>
<p>Bidders must have completed similar works related to the design, supply, installation, commissioning, and testing of grid-connected ground-mounted, rooftop, or floating solar projects.</p>
<p>They must have completed three similar completed works, each costing not less than 20% of the estimated cost put to tender, or two similar completed works, each costing not less than 25% of the estimated cost put to tender or one similar completed work costing not less than 40% of the estimated cost put to tender.</p>
<p>The average annual financial turnover during the last three years, ending March 31, 2024, should be at least 30% of the estimated cost put to tender.</p>
<p>Bidders must provide a certificate confirming the possession of sufficient working capital, which should be at least 20% of the annualized value or estimated value, whichever is less of the specified work.</p>
<p>This working capital should include access to lines of credit and the availability of other financial resources necessary to meet the project requirements.</p>
<p>Earlier,  CMPDI <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/coal-india-subsidiary-solar-project-in-jharkhand/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids for the design, supply, installation, commissioning, and testing of grid-connected solar power projects with a cumulative capacity of 13 MW.</p>

					</table><p>Solar engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) company <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/redir/redirect?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Esvaryu%2Ecom&amp;urlhash=yiIk&amp;trk=about_website" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Svaryu Energy</a> has been awarded an EPC contract by Coal India Navikarniya Urja on behalf of <a href="https://www.bcclweb.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Bharat Coking Coal</a> for a 25 MW grid-connected solar project at Bhojudih Coal Washery in Purulia, West Bengal.</p>
<p>The company must also oversee the project’s maintenance and operation for five years.</p>
<p>Svaryu Energy quoted ₹1.63 billion (~$19.8 million) to win the auction and was issued the word order on April 7, 2023.</p>
<p>The company has already submitted performance security of ₹81.5 million (~$992,374).</p>
<p>The tender was <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/epc-tender-solar-west-bengal" target="_blank" rel="noopener">floated</a> in March last year.</p>
<p>CIL Navikarniya Urja and Bharat Coking Coal are wholly-owned subsidiaries of <a href="https://www.coalindia.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Coal India</a>.</p>
<p>Bharat Coking Coal will utilize the generated power from the proposed solar project for captive consumption of the different consumer points in Jharkhand, and the surplus power may be fed to the grid.</p>
<p>If the contractor fails to achieve successful commissioning or commercial operation date of the project within 365 days from the date of commencement (which begins after the expiration of 30 days from the issuance of the letter of acceptance), the company will impose liquidated damages on the contractor.</p>
<p>However, partial commissioning of a minimum allowed capacity of 12.5 MW will be permitted. The performance guarantee test and the operation and maintenance period will commence only when the contractor commissions the full capacity of 25 MW.</p>
<p>If the EPC work is not completed on time, the following compensation terms will apply:</p>
<ol>
<li>For a delay up to 30 days: A penalty of ₹20,000 (~$243)/MW/day will be deducted for the first 30 days of delay, calculated on a per-day basis and proportionate to the capacity that has not been commissioned.</li>
<li>For a delay of more than 30 days and up to 60 days: A penalty of ₹30,000 (~$365)/MW/day will be deducted per day and proportionate to the capacity not commissioned.</li>
<li>For a delay of more than 60 days: A penalty of ₹45,000 (~$547)/MW/day will be deducted per day and proportionate to the capacity.</li>
<li>A delay exceeding 180 days will be considered a default.</li>
</ol>
<p>The total 25 MW will be connected to the 132/33 kV substation at Patherdih, Jharkhand.</p>
<p>The efficiency of modules should also be at least 20%, and they must be warranted for their material, manufacturing defects, and workmanship for ten years. The output peak watt capacity should not be less than 90% at the end of 10 years and 80% at the end of 25 years.</p>

Svaryu Energy Wins EPC Contract for Coal India Subsidiary’s 25 MW Solar Project

<p>Here are some noteworthy cleantech announcements of the day from around the world:</p>
<p><strong>Hydropower company Statkraft and Norwegian utility company Skagerak Energi have been chosen to </strong><a href="https://www.skagerakenergi.no/pressemeldinger/verdens-forste-hydrogendrevne-lasteskip-far-gront-hydrogen-fra-skagerak-energi-og-statkraft-article3689-1521.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>supply</strong></a><strong> green hydrogen to a zero-emission bulk carrier.</strong> Slated to be the world’s first hydrogen-powered cargo ship, the project is being planned by building materials company HeidelbergCement and Norwegian agricultural cooperative Felleskjøpet. The concept involves replacing containers with compressed hydrogen and is flexible so that it can be used both for transport and for other purposes. The ship will transport grain from Eastern Norway to Western Norway and rock and gravel on the way back and will sail using emission-free green hydrogen in combination with rotor sails. The project aims to cut down Norway’s carbon emissions.</p>
<p><strong>SJVN Limited, a joint venture between the central government and the Himachal Pradesh government, has </strong><a href="https://www.bseindia.com/xml-data/corpfiling/AttachLive/e1f97227-af1f-46eb-8b4d-77a503fc7c5f.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>reported</strong></a><strong> a total income of ₹32.13 billion (~$432.43 million) for the financial year </strong>(FY) 2021, an increase of 4% compared to ₹30.95 billion (~$416.54 million) during FY 2019-20. The company registered energy sales of ₹24.34 billion (~$327.58 million) from hydropower for the year ended March 31, 2021, a decline of 8% compared to ₹26.43 billion (~$355.71 million) for the previous corresponding year. The sales from wind and solar amounted to ₹512.8 million (~$6.91 million), decreasing 4% compared to ₹535 million (~$7.2 million) for the FY 2019-20.</p>
<p><a href="http://lnjbhilwara.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>LNJ Bhilwara Group</strong></a><strong> has announced its entry into the lithium-ion battery business through its private promoter entities.</strong> The group has entered into a joint venture with Pune-based Replus Engitech to establish a 1 GWh plant for lithium-ion battery modules and packs, battery management systems, energy management systems, and containerized battery energy solutions. The greenfield plant in Pune will be operational by mid-2022, with a capacity of 1GWh in phase one. The company aims to increase the capacity to 5G Wh by 2024 in phase two. The products will cater to large energy storage systems for renewable integration, micro-grid, utility support, railways, telecom, and data centers, among others.</p>
<p><strong>Renewable energy firm Masdar, a subsidiary of Mubadala Investment Company, has </strong><a href="https://news.masdar.ae/en/news/2021/06/25/06/22/masdar-signs-strategic-agreement-to-develop-solar-projects-in-republic-of-iraq" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>announced</strong></a><strong> signing a strategic agreement with the Government of Iraq </strong>to develop solar photovoltaic projects in the country with a minimum total capacity of 2 GW. Masdar will generate solar power through projects in central and southern Iraq. Iraq targets 10 GW to 12 GW (20-25%) of energy coming from renewable sources.</p>
