The South Central Railway has invited bids to install rooftop solar systems of a total capacity of 1,237 kW at service buildings across the Hyderabad Division. The initiative aims to enhance renewable energy utilization and reduce dependency on conventional power sources.
The last date to submit bids is October 17, 2024.
The project’s estimated cost is ₹86.1 million (~$1.02 million). Bidders will have four months to complete it.
Bidders must also pay an earnest money deposit of ₹590,900 (~$7,061).
The scope of the work encompasses the design, supply, and installation of rooftop on-grid solar systems with the following specifications:
- Mono PERC Solar Panels (535 Wp or above)
- Maximum Power Point Tracker (MPPT)
- Inverters with pure sine wave output
- Complete installation, including net meters, as per standard specifications and the site engineer’s directions
Breakdown of Solar System Capacities
- 10 kW: 31 sets at a unit rate of ₹642,040 (~$7,672)
- 20 kW: 13 sets at a unit rate of ₹1.28 million (~$15,345)
- 40 kW: 9 sets at a unit rate of ₹2.56 million (~$30,690)
- 50 kW: 1 set at a unit rate of ₹3.21 million (~$38,364)
- 80 kW: 2 sets at a unit rate of ₹5.13 million (~$61,383)
- Additional Capacities (5 kW to 1 kW)
The tender also includes installing necessary electrical infrastructure, such as laying and commissioning LT XLPE cables, supplying and installing MCCBs and other electrical components, excavating and constructing cable trenches, and providing earthing systems as per IS specifications.
The Raipur Division of South East Central Railway in Chhattisgarh invited bids for state-wise empanelment of agencies to implement grid-connected rooftop solar power projects of 1.165 MW capacity at its yards and workshops through public-private partnership and on a design, build, finance, operate, and transfer basis.
In August, the Raipur Division also invited bids for another similar state-wise empanelment of agencies to implement grid-connected rooftop solar power projects of 1.020 MW.
