Rewa Ultra Mega Solar (RUMSL) has invited bids to develop a 600 MW grid-connected ground-mounted solar power project with a battery energy storage system (BESS) in Morena Solar Park, Madhya Pradesh.

The last date to submit bids is January 20, 2025. Bids will be opened on January 23.

The scope of work covers developing, operating, and maintaining two units each of 300 MW of grid-connected ground-mounted solar projects, with BESS, for the supply of an aggregate of 440 MW (220 MW from each unit) of peak power to the procurer during 4-hour peak period (divided into 2-hour morning peak and 2-hour evening peak).

The procurer will provide night-time charging power to the solar power developers for the BESS component of the units per the power purchase agreements. The unit capacity in MW is the maximum power output (AC) from the unit that can be scheduled at the delivery point during any time block of the day.

The project will be developed on a pre-identified land parcel inside the Morena Solar Park. The selected bidder must sign a power purchase agreement with the procurer and RUMSL. MP Power Management Company will purchase the energy generated from the units on behalf of three distribution companies in Madhya Pradesh.

RUMSL will provide the power evacuation infrastructure to the selected bidder.

Bidders must submit an earnest money deposit of ₹425.50 million (~$5.08 million) for one unit of 220 MW and ₹851.01 million (~$10.17 million) for two units totaling 440 MW.

They must submit a performance bank guarantee (PBG) of ₹851.01 million (~$10.17 million) ) for one unit of 220 MW  and ₹1.70 billion (~$20.33 million) for two units of 220 MW each.

Selected bidders should submit a PBG of ₹212.75 million (~2.54 million) for one unit of 220 MW and ₹425.50 million (~$5.08 million) for two units of 220 MW each.

Bidders must have a minimum annual turnover during FY 2023-24 of ₹1.25 billion (~414.95 million) for one unit of 220 MW and ₹2.20 billion (~$26.31 million) for two units of 220 MW each.

In April 2024, RUMSL invited  bids for a 170 MW grid-connected ground-mounted solar photovoltaic project in the Neemuch Solar Park in Madhya Pradesh.

In January 2024, RUMSL issued a tender to procure 400 MW firm and dispatchable grid-connected renewable power.
