Renew, EG Energy, Dineshchandra, Serentica, Tata Win SJVN’s 1.2 GW FDRE Auction

Renew Solar Power, EG Energy Development (Enfinity Global), Dineshchandra R Agrawal Infracon, Serentica Renewables India, and Tata Power Renewable Energy have won SJVN’s auction to develop 1,200 MW ISTS-connected projects to supply firm and dispatchable renewable energy.
The total capacity auctioned by SJVN was 448 MW.
Renew Solar won 100 MW at a tariff of ₹4.82 (~$0.0532)/kWh, EG Energy 60 MW at ₹4.83 (~$0.0553)/kWh, Dineshchandra 100 MW at ₹4.86 (~$0.0556)/kWh, Serentica Renewables at ₹4.89 (~$0.0560)/kWh, and Tata Power Renewable Energy 88 MW at ₹4.91 (~$0.0562)/kWh.
The tender, which was floated in July 2024, also offered a greenshoe capacity of up to 1,200 MW.
The tender specified the minimum bid capacity at 50 MW and the maximum at 600 MW.
The projects will only use commercially established and operational technologies to minimize the technology risk and achieve timely commissioning. To derive the advantage of the latest developments and models, the type of certified wind turbine models listed in the Revised List of Models and Manufacturers will be deployed in the projects.
The declared annual capacity utilization factor must not be less than 75%.
The wind power projects will be developed per the relevant guidelines.
For solar modules and balance of systems, the technical guidelines issued by the government from time to time for grid-connected solar photovoltaic systems and the technical guidelines prevalent at the time of the project’s commissioning will be followed.
In November 2024, Hero Solar Energy, Ganeko Solar (Zelestra), Juniper Green Energy, ReNew, and Avaada won SJVN’s auction to supply 1,200 MW firm and dispatchable power from ISTS-connected renewable energy projects with energy storage systems under tariff-based competitive bidding (FDRE II). The tariffs were ₹4.25 (~$0.0506)/kWh and ₹4.26 (~$0.0507)/kWh.
