NTPC Renewable Energy has invited bids for supplying and installing 271 wind turbine generators for an 813 MW interstate transmission system-connected power project in Bellary, Karnataka.

Bids must be submitted by May 8, 2025. Bids will be opened on the same day.

The cost of the bidding documents is ₹22,500 (~$263). Bidders must furnish ₹1 billion (~$11.69 million) as bid security.

The project scope entails the designing, engineering, manufacturing, supplying, erecting, installing, testing, and commissioning of wind turbine generators with a minimum 3 MW rating.

Selected bidders must establish the guaranteed performance parameters for the entire wind project by installing the offered wind turbine generators, control panels, supervisory control and data acquisition, and controls and systems software.

They must also provide comprehensive operation and maintenance services for ten years from the project’s commissioning. These services include supplying spare parts and consumables and repairing or replacing faulty equipment.

Successful bidders must obtain the statutory approvals and clearances for power evacuation, grid connectivity, and coordination with state nodal renewable energy agencies.

Bidders must be manufacturers of approved wind turbine generators with a minimum rating of 3 MW, as listed in the latest Revised List of Models and Manufacturers issued by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy before the bid opening date.

Bidders must have a minimum average annual turnover of at least ₹10.68 million (~$124,939)/MW of the quoted capacity during the last three years.

They should have a positive net worth on the last day of the preceding financial year.

In February, NTPC Renewable Energy invited bids to supply and install wind turbine generators for a 110 MW interstate transmission system-connected wind energy project at Khavda NTPC Renewable Energy Park in Gujarat.

India added over 800 MW of wind power capacity in the fourth quarter of calendar year 2024, up 45.1% year-over-year from 551 MW. The capacity additions surged 13.3% quarter-over-quarter from 706.6 MW, according to Mercom India Research. Tamil Nadu led the installations in Q4, adding 366.6 MW. Gujarat, Karnataka, and Maharashtra added 264.6 MW, 166.9 MW, and 2.1 MW, respectively.
