NTPC Renewable Energy has invited bids to supply and install wind turbine generators for a 110 MW interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected wind energy project at Khavda NTPC Renewable Energy Park in Gujarat.

The last day to submit the bids is March 25, 2025. Bids will be opened on the same day.

The cost of the bidding documents is ₹22,500 (~$259). Bidders must furnish ₹100 million (~$1.15 million) as bid security.

The project scope includes designing, engineering, manufacturing, supplying, erecting, installing, testing, and commissioning wind turbine generators with a 3 MW or higher rating.

They must establish the guaranteed performance parameters for the entire wind power project by installing the offered wind turbine generators, control panels, SCADA, and controls and systems software at NTPC Renewable Energy’s Pooling Substations 2 and 3.

Bidders are responsible for the comprehensive operation and maintenance of the entire system for ten years from the project’s commissioning. This includes supplying spare parts and consumables and repairing or replacing faulty equipment.

They must obtain the statutory approvals and clearances for power evacuation, grid connectivity, and coordination with state nodal renewable energy agencies, as needed.

Bidders must be manufacturers of approved wind turbine generators with a minimum rating of 3 MW, as listed in the latest Revised List of Models and Manufacturers issued by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy before the bid opening date.

NTPC Renewable Energy intends to finance the project using its own resources.

Bidders must have a minimum average annual turnover of not less than ₹3.27 billion (~$37.65) during the last three years.

They should have a positive net worth on the last day of the preceding financial year.

In July last year, NTPC Renewable Energy invited bids to supply and install wind turbine generators for a 960 MW ISTS-connected wind energy project in Karnataka (Tranche III).

India added over 800 MW of wind power capacity in the fourth quarter of calendar year 2024, up 45.1% year-over-year from 551 MW. The capacity additions surged 13.3% quarter-over-quarter from 706.6 MW, according to Mercom India Research.
