NTPC Renewable Energy (NTPC REL) has invited bids for a land and power evacuation package to develop 600 MW solar power projects in Tumkur, Karnataka.

Bids must be submitted by April 4, 2025. Bids will be opened on the same day.

Bidders must submit a document fee of ₹22,500 (~$259.41).

The scope of work entails land arrangement near the Tumkur substation, leasing management for private land, topography survey, geo-tech investigation, land fencing, providing grid connectivity with the substation, and designing and constructing pooling substations, terminal bay, and transmission lines.

It also involves operating and maintaining the pooling substation, its associated equipment, transmission lines, and the terminal bay for three years.

Selected bidders must provide an estimated 5 acres/MW of government or private land on a freehold or lease basis for at least 29 years and 11 months.

They must ensure 10% of the average slope for installing tracker-based module mounting structures. They must pay lease charges to landowners on behalf of NTPC REL and receive periodic reimbursement from it.

Bidders must be class-I local suppliers.

Bidders must have arranged land for grid-connected solar projects/parks, wind projects/parks, or a combination of both. The projects must have a cumulative capacity of at least 100 MW, and one of the projects must have had a minimum capacity of 50 MW.

The projects can also include those yet to be commissioned.

Alternatively, bidders must have executed a single project in an industrial sector either as a developer or an engineering, procurement, and construction contractor (EPC) in the power/steel/oil and gas/petrochemical/fertilizer/cement/ coal mining sectors, including coal handling plant and/or any other process industry worth at least ₹472 million (~$5.4 million).

The project must have been operational for at least one year in industries and the non-renewable energy sector and at least six months for the renewable energy sector.

Bidders must also have executed at least one electrical sub-station with a minimum voltage level of 33 kV, consisting of equipment such as voltage breakers and power transformers of at least 33 kV capacity, either as a developer or an EPC contractor.

The project must have been operational for at least one year in the non-renewable energy sector and for at least six months in the renewable energy sector.

Bidders must have a minimum annual turnover of ₹472 million (~$5.4 million) in the last three financial years.

In December 2024, NTPC REL invited bids for the balance of system package for 1.4 GW of grid-connected solar power projects in Lalitpur (2 x 300 MW) and Chitrakoot (2 x 400 MW) in Uttar Pradesh.
