The North Eastern Railway has invited bids for installing grid-connected rooftop solar systems of a total capacity of 1.94 MW at railway stations, service buildings, residential quarters, and level crossings under Phase II in the Lucknow Division.

The last date for the submission of bids is October 4, 2024.

The scope of the work includes the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of grid-connected solar photovoltaic projects without battery backup.

The project’s estimated cost is ₹115.9 million (~$1.3 million).

Bidders must furnish an earnest money deposit of ₹729,500 (~$8,688) and complete the project within six months.

For tenders valued up to ₹5 million (~$59,550), financial credentials are not required.

For tenders exceeding ₹5 million (~$59,550), bidders must demonstrate a minimum average annual contractual turnover calculated as V/N or V, whichever is lower (where V is the advertised tender value in crores and N is the project duration in years).

This turnover is based on the audited financial statements for the previous three years.

Bidders must have completed similar projects within the last seven years, with specific value thresholds based on the number of projects completed. A valid Class A Electrical Contractor License from the state government is mandatory.

Bidders must not be blacklisted or debarred by Indian Railways or any government department. They must comply with GST regulations and agree to employ qualified engineers as specified.

South Eastern Railway recently invited bids to empanel agencies to set up 8.383 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar power projects in Odisha, Jharkhand, and West Bengal through public-private partnerships on a design, build, finance, operate, and transfer basis.
