South Western Railway Invites Bids for 63 MW Rooftop Solar Projects

The Hubli Division-Electrical of the South Western Railway has invited bids for grid-connected rooftop solar projects with a cumulative capacity of 62.99 MW at railway stations, residences, and level crossing gates.

The last date to submit bids is October 3, 2024.

The projects will have a net-metering arrangement.

The successful bidder must maintain the projects for five years. The comprehensive maintenance contract will commence after the initial 36-month maintenance period is completed.

The projects must be completed within 12 months.

Bidders must pay an earnest money deposit of ₹9.43 million (~$112,303).

The tender has an advertised value of ₹158.5 million (~$18.87 million).

Bidders must have a minimum average annual contractual turnover of V/N or V, whichever is less, where V = the advertised value of the tender in rupees and N = the number of years prescribed for completion of the work.

If the bidder is a joint venture (JV), the lead member’s financial capacity must meet at least 51% of the financial eligibility criteria. Other members of the JV who do not fulfill the technical eligibility for the work should have completed similar work during the last seven years and have a technical capacity of a minimum of 10% of the cost of work.

Bidders should have completed any one of the following during the last seven years for works that have an advertised value of ₹5 million (~$59,548):

  • Three similar works, each costing not less than 30% of the advertised value of each component of the tender
  • Two similar works, each costing not less than 40% of the advertised value of each component of the tender
  • One similar work costing not less than 60% of the advertised value of each component of the tender

Besides work experience certificates issued by a government organization, work experience certificates issued by a publicly listed company having a minimum average annual turnover of ₹5 billion (~$59.55 million) in the last three financial years, excluding the current financial year, will be considered.

In August, the Bikaner Division — Electrical, North Western Railway, issued a tender for a cumulative capacity of 2,068 kW grid-connected rooftop solar power systems at railway residential quarters.
