The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has invited bids for a 4.9 MW rooftop solar power project in the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) Corridor.

The scope of work includes design, engineering, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and operation and maintenance under the renewable energy service company model for 25 years.

The last date for submitting bids is August 12, 2024. Bids will open the next day.

Bidders must pay an earnest money deposit of ₹3.52 million (~$42,154).

The work must be completed in 456 days.

NCRTC is a joint venture of the Government of India and the governments of Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh. It is mandated to implement the RRTS project across the National Capital Region and ensure sustainable urban development through better connectivity and access.

A bidder can be an individual, private entity, or government-owned enterprise. Forming a joint venture (JV) is not mandatory.

In the case of a JV, the lead partner must hold the majority share, and no partner should have less than 26% of the total issued, subscribed, and paid-up equity share capital.

Bidders must be registered with the competent authority.

Bidders with conflicts of interest affecting the bidding process will be disqualified.

Government-owned enterprises can participate only if they are legally and financially independent and operate under commercial law.

Bidders may need to provide evidence of the origin of materials, equipment, and services.

The Ministry of Railways recently issued a request for qualification to empanel agencies to implement rooftop solar projects for the Indian Railways in Rajasthan. The scope of work includes the design, procurement, erection of civil and structural works, installation, testing, and commissioning of the solar projects.

In April, South Eastern Railway invited bids to empanel agencies for setting up 8.383 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar power projects in Odisha, Jharkhand, and West Bengal through public-private partnerships on a design, build, finance, operate, and transfer basis.
