Himachal Pradesh Issues Consultancy Tender for Solar Projects Across the State

Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation (HPPCL) has invited bids for the empanelment of survey agencies to carry out a detailed topographical survey of solar power project sites in various districts of Himachal Pradesh.
The last day to submit the bids is January 1, 2024.
Bidders must pay an empanelment fee of ₹5,000 (~$60), which will be valid for three years.
HPPCL is installing 200 MW solar capacity in the state under the World Bank-funded ‘Himachal Power Sector Development Program.’ Further, the state government has assigned HPPCL an additional target of developing 200 MW solar capacity projects.
To this end, various solar sites have been explored in districts Una, Kangra, Hamirpur, and Bilaspur and the vicinity of the operational projects of HPPCL. Besides these, HPPCL is also in the process of identifying solar power project sites in other districts of Himachal Pradesh.
The scope of work includes detailed topographical surveys of solar project sites, including surveys of the surrounding area (real estate, infrastructure, forest cover) across various districts.
Bidders should have completed at least 15 survey works with differential global positioning system (DGPS) or total station during the last three years. Out of this, at least five projects should be in the hill areas. They should have at least two DGPS or total station survey instruments.
Bidders should have a net worth of more than ₹7.5 million (~$90,016) during the last three years.
They should have an aggregate turnover of ₹5 million (~$60,011) during the last three years.
In May, HPPCL invited bids for designing, supplying, constructing, installing, and commissioning a 5 MW solar power project at Bhanjal in the Una district.
Earlier, HPPCL had invited bids for the design, supply, construction, installation, and commissioning of a 3 MW solar power project at Sainj in the Kullu district of the state.
