France Increases Feed-in Tariffs for Rooftop Solar Installations for Q2 2022
The tariff ranges from €181.4/MWh for 3kW systems to €96.9/MWh for systems up to 100 kW
France’s independent energy regulatory commission, La Commission de Régulation de l’Énergie (CRE), released feed-in tariffs for rooftop solar systems up to 100 kW capacity for the second quarter of 2022.
Separate tariffs have been issued depending on the system size and regions — the city and non-interconnected zones.
City
For rooftop solar systems of less than 3 kW, the tariff has been increased to €181.4 (~$190.56)/MWh from the €178.9 (~$187.93)/MWh last quarter. For systems above 3 kW and up to 9 kW, the tariff is €154.2 (~$161.98)/MWh, compared to €152 (~$159.67)/MWh in the previous quarter.
The tariff for systems ranging from 9 kW to 36 kW is enhanced to €111.5 (~$117.13)/MWh from €108.9 (~$114.40)/MWh in the previous quarter. For systems above 36 kW and up to 100 kW, the tariff is €96.9 (~$101.79)/MWh, compared to the preceding quarter’s €94.7 (~$99.48)/MWh.
Non-interconnected zones
The interconnected regions are Guadeloupe, Martinique, Réunion, Mayotte, and Guiana.
In Guadeloupe and Martinique, the tariff for systems of less than 3 kW is €192 (~$201.69)/MWh. For systems above 3 kW and up to 9 KW, the tariff is €170.6 (~$179.21)/MWh. For systems above 9 kW and up to 36 kW, the tariff is €156.4 (~$164.30)/MWh. For systems above 36 kW and up to 100 kW, the tariff is €142.2 (~$149.38)/MWh.
In Réunion, the tariff for less than 3 kW systems is €180.7 (~$189.82)/MWh and €160.6 (~$168.71)/MWh for systems above 3 kW and up to 9 kW. For systems above 9 kW and up to 36 kW, the tariff is €147.2 (~$154.63)/MWh. For systems above 36 kW and up to 100 kW, the tariff is €133.8 (~$140.55)/MWh.
In Mayotte, the tariff for systems of less than 3 kW is €214.6 (~$225.43)/MWh and €190.7 (~$200.33)/MWh for systems in the range of 3 kW to 9 kW. For systems in the 9 kW to 36 kW range, the tariff is €174.8 (~$183.62)/MWh. For systems above 36 kW and up to 100 kW, the tariff is €158.9 (~$166.92)/MWh.
In Guiana, for systems of less than 3 kW, the tariff is €203.3 (~$213.56)/MWh and €180.7 (~$189.82)/MWh for 3 kW to 9 kW systems. The tariff for systems above 9 kW and up to 36 kW is €165.6 (~$173.96)/MWh and €150.6 (~$158.20)/MWh for above 36 kW to 100 kW systems.
France’s Ministry of Ecological and Solidarity Transition announced the winners of its first round of auctions for commercial and industrial rooftop solar and ground-mounted solar projects for the 2021-26 period under the country’s Programmation Pluriannuelle de l’Energie or the multi-year energy procurement program.
France’s total installed solar photovoltaic capacity reached the 13.07 GW mark at the end of December 2021. According to the released data, a total of 761 MW of solar capacity was added in the last quarter of 2021, which marked a new record for quarterly installations. Energy from renewable sources accounted for 25% of the total energy consumption in the country in 2021.
