Coal India (CIL) has invited expression of interest (EoI) for developing a 1,000 MW grid-connected solar power project in Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam’s (RUVNL) solar park in Pugal, Rajasthan.

The last date to submit bids is January 2, 2025. Bids will be opened on January 3, 2025.

The project will be developed in Ramsar Chhota and Barala villages in Bikaner district.

Bidders must develop the project on 1,100 and 400 hectares of land and maintain a minimum capacity utilization factor (CUF) of 28%. The delivery point must be on the low voltage side of the 400 kV Grid substation.

The scope of work involves designing, engineering, supplying and procuring, constructing, erecting, testing, and commissioning. It also includes operation and maintenance for five years.

The solar power project must be designed for interconnection with the pooling substation at the solar park through a dedicated cable/line at a voltage level of 33 kV. The engineering, procurement, and construction contractor must connect the project to the pooling substation at 33 kV through a dedicated cable/ line.

Rajasthan Vidyut Prasaran Nigam is already constructing a 400kV/765 kV substation to evacuate power from the solar park.

Bidders must submit a cost estimate of the project along with a breakup of the capacity of the solar project, proposed DC overloading in percentage to achieve 28% CUF at the delivery point in the first year, supply of solar modules, and supply of balance of the system.

CIL Solar PV for the manufacturing of In September 2024, CIL invited bids to set up a 300 MW grid-connected ground-mounted solar project at the Khavda Solar Park in Gujarat.

In November 2024, CIL Navikarniya Urja, a subsidiary of CIL, issued a tender for the engineering, procurement and construction of a 40 MW solar power project in Madhya Pradesh.
