Tamil Nadu is finally expected to join Ujwal DISCOM (distribution company) Assurance Yojana (UDAY) program on Monday, according to sources. The state will become the 21^st member state to join UDAY program.

Out of the proposed ~₹4 lakh crore (~$58.9 billion) debt to be wiped out through UDAY program, Tamil Nadu DISCOMs alone account for ₹50,000 crores (~$7.4 billion).
