The New and Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (NREDCAP) has tendered a 4 MW wind project in Andhra Pradesh. The bid-submission deadline is January 18, 2017.

The estimated project cost is Rs.250 million (~$3.6 million) and is expected to be complete two months after the contract is awarded. Only manufacturers of wind turbine generators can participate in the bidding.

The engineering procurement and construction scope of work includes, design, micro siting, engineering, inspection, testing, erection, supply of materials/equipment, transportation to site, construction, performance testing and commissioning. The tender also calls for operation and maintenance of the project for a 10-year period.

Competitive bidding for wind projects in India is a growing trend. Recently, the Solar Energy Corporation of India tendered 1,000 MW wind capacity, and the government-owned, Hindustan Salts Limited, has invited expression of interest to install a 100 MW wind power project in Gujarat.
