The Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has issued two tenders for operation and maintenance (O&M) services. It has invited bids for the O&M works for the West Bengal Electricity Distribution Company Limited’s (WBSEDCL) 10 MW solar power project in Bankura district of West Bengal for 41 months.

The project’s estimated cost is ₹9.57 million (~$131,637). Bidders will have to submit ₹227,000 (~$3,122) as the earnest money deposit. The successful bidder will have to submit 5% of the work order as the performance security deposit.

The last date to submit the bids is March 2, 2021.

Bidders should have experience executing similar works in the last seven years. They should have completed three similar works costing not less than 40% of the estimated cost, or two similar projects of 50% of the estimated cost, or a single project of 80% of the project’s estimated cost. Any vendor against whom BHEL has initiated action due to non-performance is not eligible for participation.

The bidders’ average annual financial turnover during the last three years should be 30% of the notice inviting tender (NIT) value.

In another tender, BHEL invited bids for O&M works for the West Bengal Power Development Corporation Limited’s (WBPDCL) 5 MW floating solar PV project at Sagardighi Thermal Power Project in Murshidabad district of West Bengal for 62 months.

The project’s estimated cost is ₹20.23 million (~$278,267). Bidders will have to pay an amount of ₹480,000 (~$6,602) as the earnest money deposit. The successful bidder will have to submit 5% of the work order amount as the performance security deposit.

The last date to submit the bids is March 03, 2021. Bids will be opened on the same day.

The eligibility criteria are the same as mentioned above for the first tender.

In October last year, BHEL released an O&M tender for its 50 MW solar power project at Kadiri, Ananthapur, in Andhra Pradesh.

Earlier, BHEL had floated O&M tenders for two solar projects. The first tender was for the O&M of a 10 MW solar power project at Charanka in Gujarat for ten years. The other was for Singareni Collieries Company Limited’s 30 MW solar project located at Manuguru in Telangana for 123 months.

According to Mercom’s India Solar Tender Tracker, BHEL has so far floated nearly 311 MW of solar O&M tenders.
