West Bengal Invites Bids for O&M of 40 MW Solar Project

West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company (WBSEDCL) has floated a tender for three years of comprehensive operation and maintenance of 40 MW ground-mounted solar projects.

The last date for the submission of bids is December 12, 2023. Bids will be opened the same day.

The projects, each of 10 MW capacity, are located at Tail Race Canal, Haptiagachh in Uttar Dinajpur, along the Teesta Canal Bank in Uttar Dinajpur, in Salboni, Paschim Medinipur, and Khemasuli (Patni) in Medinipur.

The project’s estimated cost is ₹ 54 million (~$647,639).

Bidders have to submit ₹ 360,000 (~$4,318) as an earnest money deposit.

The successful bidder has to submit a performance bank guarantee for 10% of the total value of the order.

Bidders must have completed a contract to install and commission at least one 10 MW or larger grid-connected solar project within the last five years.

Alternatively, they should have experience in the comprehensive operation and maintenance of a grid-connected 10 MW or larger solar project for at least one year in the last five years.

Bidders must have a positive net worth. They must demonstrate a minimum average annual turnover equivalent to 30% of the estimated tender cost for the last three consecutive financial years.

Bidders must have an aggregate executed order value of ₹20 million (~$ 239,904) with a single executed order value of ₹4.5 million (~$53,978) in the solar or non-solar sectors.

In August, WBSEDCL invited bids to select agencies to supply, install, operate, and manage 47 electric vehicle charging and battery swapping stations.

In July, WBSEDCL invited bids to develop and commission 900 MW pumped storage projects on a design, build, finance, operate and transfer basis on the Bandu reservoir in Purulia, West Bengal.
