West Bengal Invites Bids for O&M of 2.6 MW Rooftop Solar Projects

The West Bengal Power Development Corporation (WBPDCL) has invited bids for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of a 2.6 MW rooftop solar power projects at Bakreshwar Thermal Power Station in Birbhum, West Bengal.

The last date to submit bids is October 11, 2025. Bids will be opened on October 13.

Bidders must submit an earnest money deposit of ₹72,000 (~$811.3) and a security deposit equivalent to 10% of the contract value.

The project’s estimated contract value is ₹3.6 million (~$40,566.2).

The scope of work encompasses operation and maintenance for 16 buildings located within the premises of Bakreshwar Thermal Power Station, for two years.

It covers the supply of materials required for operation and maintenance.

The successful bidder must maintain the grid-tied inverters, cables, and connection boxes, online data loggers, and undertake preventive maintenance of solar modules.

The modules must be washed once a week.

Ground faults and other system faults must be eliminated to ensure 100% plant availability.

The successful bidder must pay a penalty of ₹2,000 (~$22.53) per instance for the non-completion of a technical job scheduled for that day.

Additionally, it must rectify any issues within the solar project within 24 hours and must pay liquidated damages of ₹1,000 (~$11.26)/day for each unresolved issue.

The successful bidder must have executed O&M for at least 1 MW of rooftop or ground-mounted solar project for at least one year.

They must have completed a single O&M order of at least ₹1.4 million (~$15,775.8), two O&M orders of at least ₹900,000 (~$10,141.6), or three O&M orders of at least ₹720,000 (~$8,113.25).
Alternatively, they must have erected and commissioned at least one rooftop/ground-mounted solar project of at least 1 MW. The project must have been operational for one year.

The successful bidder must have an electrical supervisor license.

Bidders must have a minimum annual turnover of ₹540,000 (~$6,084.94) and a positive net worth in the last three financial years.

n June 2025, WBPDCL invited bids for the O&M of 10 MW ground-mounted solar power projects at the Sagardighi Thermal Power Project for two years. Bids must be submitted by July 9, 2025. Bids will be opened on July 11.
