Uttar Pradesh New & Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) has invited Expressions of Interest (EoI) to set up floating solar projects at 35 dams and reservoirs in Uttar Pradesh.
Bids must be submitted by January 20, 2025. Bids will be opened on January 21.
UPNEDA is the nodal implementing agency under Uttar Pradesh Solar Energy Policy 2022, which has aims to add 22,000 MW of solar energy by 2027. Of this, 14,000 MW is targeted for large-scale solar power projects. The EoI aims to understand the developers’ interest in setting up floating solar projects.
Selected bidders must survey, design, supply, install, test, commission, operate, and maintain the solar projects. They must ensure that the project is connected to the nearest substation and complete its commissioning within the specified time frame.
Successful bidders must obtain and maintain all necessary consents, clearances, permits, and approvals throughout the lease period. They must arrange for a power procurer independently.
Uttar Pradesh’s state-level committee will allocate sites for the projects’ development, including dams or reservoirs.
Recently, UPNEDA invited bids for 2 MW grid-connected rooftop solar systems with battery backup for captive use in government buildings. The individual system sizes could vary from 11 kW to 50 kW.
In October 2024, UPNEDA invited bids under five tenders for a cumulative capacity of 23 MW on-grid and off-grid rooftop solar systems with battery backup for captive use in government buildings.
In September, UPNEDA invited bids for 320 MW grid-connected ground-mounted solar power projects in eight locations in Jalaun, Uttar Pradesh. UPNEDA will lease 1,292.46 acres of land to the solar developer for 30 years for the projects.
Earlier in the same month, UPNEDA issued a tender for the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of distributed grid-connected solar PV systems to solarize 10,000 agricultural pumps under Component C-1 of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthan Mahabhiyan program.
