Textile manufacturing company and the flagship company of the LNJ Bhilwara Group, RSWM, has signed an agreement with Adani Energy Solutions (AESL) to supply 60 MW of renewable energy to its multiple facilities in Rajasthan.

The agreement marks a step in RSWM’s sustainability roadmap, aiming to increase its share of renewable energy from the current 33% to 70% of its total energy consumption.

Under the agreement, AESL will manage the complete green power value chain to meet RSWM’s additional power requirements. To facilitate this, RSWM has invested ₹600 million (~$6.77 million) under the gwith the renewable generation company.

The project is expected to supply 315.3 million units of green power annually to RSWM’s manufacturing facilities.

“By sourcing 70% of our total energy requirement from renewable sources, well above the national average, RSWM continues to set industry benchmarks in responsible energy transition,” said Riju Jhunjhunwala, Chairman, Managing Director and CEO, RSWM.

Currently, RSWM sources 102 million kWh of renewable energy annually from solar and wind projects.

The company focuses on integrating sustainability into its operations by adopting renewable energy sources, implementing circular material flows, and practicing responsible water management.

AESL operates a private sector power transmission company with over 26,600 circuit km of transmission lines and around 93,200 MVA of power transformation capacity. The company’s network operates at an availability rate of over 99.7%, matching global standards.

The company aims to expand its transmission network to 30,000 circuit km by 2030 and is targeting a 7,000 MW commercial and industrial portfolio within the next five years.

In May this year, Adani Energy Solutions bagged REC Power Development and Consultancy’s transmission project to evacuate 1.5 GW of power from pumped storage projects near Talegaon, Maharashtra.

In March, it secured a power transmission project from PFC Consulting to supply 3 GW of renewable energy, enabling the production of green hydrogen and green ammonia in Mundra, Gujarat.
