The Telangana State Renewable Energy Development Corporation (TSREDCO) has invited bids from consultancies to prepare a study on the feasibility and detailed project report (DPR) to establish grid-connected solar photovoltaic projects at 50 substations of 33/11 kV within Telangana State Northern Power Distribution Company’s (TSNPDCL) jurisdiction.

The projects will be installed under Component-C of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha Evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan program.

The last date to submit the bids is February 3, 2023. Bids will be opened the next day.

Bidders must submit a bid security deposit of ₹40,000 (~$490.72).

The successful bidder will have to submit a pre-feasibility study consisting of a conceptual design, estimated installed capacity, energy yield, and predicted revenue of the MW-scale solar projects. The report must also include the analysis of agricultural/non-agricultural feeders and modes of financing for the projects.

The select agency must submit the detailed project report within 45 days of the issue of the work order.

Bidders must have experience in preparing DPRs on solar power projects with at least 10 MW of cumulative capacity during the last three financial years.

They must also have a turnover of not less than ₹5 million (~$61,337) in any one financial year during the last three financial years.

Early last year, the Telangana State Electricity Regulatory Commission issued the ‘Renewable Power Purchase Obligation Regulations, 2022,’ setting a long-term RPO trajectory for the state. The Commission set the renewable purchase obligation target, which includes solar and non-solar targets in the range of 8.5% for the financial year 2022-23 to 13% in 2026-27.

Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy R K Singh said at the World Economic Forum recently that India is aiding farmers with millions of solar water pumps and providing them with ammonia-based fertilizers by producing sufficient green ammonia.

Recently, TSREDCO invited bids to procure 50 MW of monocrystalline passivated emitter and rear contact solar modules under the domestic content requirement (DCR) and non-DCR categories for utilization in grid-connected rooftop solar program (Phase-II) and other government projects.
