Tata Power Renewable Energy, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Power, has begun commercial operation of a 15 MW solar project in Telangana. The company announced the synchronization of its 15 MW solar project located in Belampally in Telangana on February 23rd.
The project had been tendered under Group-I of the Telangana State Solar Policy in 2015. According to Mercom’s India Solar Project Tracker, Tata matched the cut-off tariff of Rs.5.7249 (~$0.086)/unit.
A power purchase agreement for the project was signed between Tata and the Northern Power Distribution Company of Telangana in February 2016 for a period of 25 years.
