<p>The Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a Joint Venture company of the Public-Sector Units of Ministry of Power and the Government of India, has tendered 200 MW of solar to be developed near pooling substations across the state of Maharashtra. The bid-submission deadline is August 16, 2017.</p>
<p>The scope of work includes, design, engineering, supply, construction, erection, testing and commissioning of the solar projects. The successful bidder will also provide operation and maintenance services for the useful life of the project.</p>
<p>Each bidder will have to bid for a minimum 20 MW capacity up to the entire capacity tendered. An EESL official told Mercom, “We have brought out this tender in response to the advisory issued by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) regarding utilization of empty land near pooling substations to allow for better usage of transmission infrastructure.”</p>
<p>We have <a href="https://mercomindia.com/mnre-issues-advisory-states-utilize-spare-space-near-substations-develop-solar-projects/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">previously reported</a>, “The MNRE issued an advisory asking state governments to utilize available spare space near substations and prioritize construction of solar projects based on availability of land near substations or transmission system.”</p>
<p>According to Mercom’s India Solar Project Tracker, in June, EESL issued a tender for the procurement of <a href="https://mercomindia.com/eesl-issues-tender-procure-300-mw-solar-modules-power-pump-sets/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">300 MW</a> of solar modules.</p>
