<p>The CIAL Infrastructures Limited (CIL), a subsidiary of the Cochin International Airport Limited (<a href="http://cial.aero/">CIAL</a>), has issued a tender for approximately 12 MW of grid-connected and ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) systems at Etukudukka, Payyanur in Kannur district of Kerala.</p>
<p>The deadline for the submission of bids is December 4, 2019.</p>
<p>The work has been divided into two parts—parts A and B.</p>
<p>The scope of work under part A involves the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the project while, operation and maintenance contract (OMC) of the project for five years, has been assigned under part B.</p>
<p>Any interested bidder must quote for parts A and B together.</p>
<p>The probable amount of contract for this work is ₹450 million (~$6.4 million), and the period for the completion of work is six months.</p>
<p>Regarding the eligibility criteria, interested bidders should have completed a single solar project of a minimum of 5 MW capacity with grid-connectivity in the last four years.</p>
<p>The minimum annual turnover of the bidder should be more than ₹2.5 billion (~$35 million) during any of the last three financial years.</p>
<p>The prospective bidders must pay ₹4.5 million (~$63,551) as the earnest money deposit.</p>
<p>CIAL Infrastructures Limited was incorporated into CIAL in 2012. CIL claims that it has already commissioned 15.4 MW of solar power projects at the airport premises, thus enabling CIAL to become the world’s first fully solar-powered airport.</p>
<p>In October 2019, Mercom reported that a Bengaluru-based Ciel Et Terre Solar Pvt. Ltd <a href="https://mercomindia.com/ciel-terre-floating-solar-cochin-airport/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">announced</a> its first 450 kW floating solar project installed at the CIAL Golf Course at Cochin Airport.</p>
<p>Airports Authority of India has recently <a href="https://mercomindia.com/aai-floats-tender-raipur-coimbatore-aurangabad-airports/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">issued</a> three different Request for Proposals (RfP) for the procurement of a total of 3.7 MW of solar power through open access for the airports at Coimbatore, Raipur, and Aurangabad.</p>
<p>The club of solar-powered airports in South India includes Bengaluru, Cochin, Trivandrum, Hyderabad, Chennai, Trichy, Calicut, Vijayawada and Tirupati.</p>
