<p>Technological innovations in the field of solar have been pivotal in its rising popularity and expansion globally. Besides advancements in solar PV technology, innovations in solar inverters also affect the project&#8217;s performance.</p>
<p>However, when it comes to solar inverters, several things have to be kept in mind, like the desired balance of cost, size, and maintenance of the project. The <a href="https://mercomindia.com/string-inverter-indian-solar-market/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">choice</a> between string and central inverters is another choice that should be made carefully, keeping in mind the project size, finances and performance expectations.</p>

<p>Sungrow, FIMER India (formerly ABB), and Sineng Electric were <a href="https://mercomindia.com/sungrow-fimer-sineng-major-solar-inverter/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">top</a> solar inverter suppliers overall to the Indian solar market in the first half (1H) of the calendar year 2020, according to <a href="https://mercomindia.com/india-solar-market-leaders-1h-2020/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Mercom’s India Solar Market Leaderboard for 1H of 2020</a>.</p>
<p>Several international players have their solar inverter manufacturing units in India. The webinar will shed light on the technological trends which push the market and how Indian developers decide on the right choice of inverters for their projects.</p>
<p>The panelist will also discuss the inner workings of the solar inverter industry and talk about developments that can improve efficiency and boost healthy competition.</p>

<p>The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) had earlier <a href="https://mercomindia.com/deadline-bis-certification-solar-inverters-extended-2/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">extended</a> the deadline for the Bureau of Indian Standards (<a href="https://bis.gov.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">BIS</a>) certification of solar inverters to December 31, 2020. The extension was given considering the disruption caused by the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown following which the industry had sought more time for compliance.</p>
<p>The MNRE has also <a href="https://mercomindia.com/mnre-seeks-revised-standards-solar/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">set up</a> a three-member expert committee comprising representatives from the MNRE, Solar Energy Corporation of India, and a BIS-certified test lab to discuss the revised standards for implementation. On June 14, 2019, the BIS published the revised standards for solar PV modules and inverters and had suggested that MNRE hold stakeholder consultations before it is implemented.</p>
