<p><a href="http://www.jasolar.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">JA Solar Holdings Company Ltd</a>., a leading vertically-integrated module manufacturer, announced that its module shipments to India reached a capacity of 1 GW in 2017.</p>
<p>The 1 GW of modules shipped to India represents the electricity generation capacity of approximately 1.7 billion kWh, which can reduce carbon emissions by 1.47 million tons annually.</p>
<p>Being the second largest solar power manufacturer with a 10 percent market share in India, JA Solar has become the fastest growing solar power company in the country in the last two years, a report by the company said.</p>
<p>Since its first module shipment to India in 2011, JA Solar has expanded quickly in the region by establishing strategic partnerships with local developers, Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) companies, independent power producers, and other important partners.</p>
<p>“India is emerging as one of the world&#8217;s largest photovoltaic (PV) markets, and JA Solar is well-positioned to continue to gain market share in the region. We remain focused on pursuing further innovation in solar PV technology to increase cell and module efficiency even further. We believe this will enable us to continue to provide our customers with high-reliability modules and superior service,&#8221; Baofang Jin, the chairman, and CEO of JA Solar said.</p>
<p>According to Mercom’s <a href="https://mercomindia.com/product/q3-2017-india-solar-quarterly-market-update/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Q3 India Solar Market Share Rankings</a>, JA Solar has supplied ~1.8 GW of solar modules to India (cumulative as of September 2017).</p>
