<p>The National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) commissioned 117 MW of solar out of the 250 MW being developed at Mandsaur in Madhya Pradesh.</p>
<p>The state-run power generator stated in a release that NTPC&#8217;s installed solar capacity now stands at 737 MW.</p>
<p>The entire capacity comprises of five projects of 50 MW each. According to Mercom’s <em>India Solar Project Tracker</em>, Vikram Solar had won a bid to develop 50 MW by quoting Rs.56.46 million (~$0.877 million)/MW; Lanco won a bid to develop 100 MW by quoting Rs.56.41 million (~$0.876 million)/MW; BHEL won a bid to develop 50 MW by quoting Rs.61.1 million (~$0.949 million)/MW; and Tata Power won a bid to develop 50 MW by quoting Rs.62.99 (~$0.979 million)/MW.</p>
<p>When asked about the commissioning date of the remaining capacity, an NTPC official told Mercom that the entire 250 MW has been installed and is complete. We have not declared the entire capacity as commissioned due to constraint from the side of solar park developer (Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited (RUMS) in this case).</p>
<p>“A total of three transformers of 100 MVA capacity each is required to evacuate all the power generated from the 250 MW project, but at Rewa, we have only been able to set up one transformer of 100 MVA. The day RUMS provides complete evacuation, we will commission the entire capacity,” added the NTPC official.</p>
