<p>The <a href="https://gescom.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Gulbarga Electricity Supply Company Limited</a> (GESCOM) has floated five tenders inviting bids totaling 2,990 kW of grid-connected rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) projects on government buildings located within its jurisdiction in the state of Karnataka.</p>
<p>These five tenders are for the government buildings within the five circles of Ballari, Bidar, Kalaburagi, Koppal, and Raichur. In total, 92 rooftop solar installations are to be completed under the five tenders.</p>
<p>The last date for the submission of bids is September 27, 2019.</p>
<p>For the Ballari circle, the number of rooftop solar systems to be installed is 15 for a total capacity of 530 kW. The total value of this tender is ₹29,897,300 (~$416,978). For the Bidar circle, the number of solar rooftops to be installed is 28 with a capacity totaling 610 kW. The tender value is ₹34,410,100 (~$479,918).</p>
<p>For Kalaburagi, Koppal, and Raichur circles, the number of rooftop solar systems to be installed are, 17, 15, and 17, respectively. Further, a total capacity of 770 kW is assigned for the Kalaburagi circle with an estimated tender value of ₹43,435,700 (~$605,798). Likewise, for Koppal, rooftop solar installations with a total capacity of 600 kW are tendered and, the tender value is $33,846,000 (~$472,050). For Raichur circle, a total capacity of 480 kW is to be installed, and the tender value is ₹27,076,800 ($377,640).</p>
<p>The total value of all the tenders is estimated to be ₹168,665,900 (~$2,352,384).</p>
<p>The scope of work includes detailed engineering, complete manufacturing, including shop testing of equipment and materials. The successful bidder will be responsible for all the required activities for the successful running, optimum energy generation, and maintenance of the solar PV power projects for ten years.</p>
<p>Bidders are also expected to supply crystalline silicon solar PV modules, solar panel mounting structures, and string inverter with a capacity equivalent to the installed capacity of the solar rooftop PV system.</p>
<p>According to the tender, the successful bidder should procure the materials from the approved vendors of GESCOM or other Electricity Supply Commissions (ESCOMs) in Karnataka.</p>
<p>Last week, Mercom reported on the survey report released by the central government,  ‘The State Rooftop Solar Attractiveness Index’ (SARAL), where, <a href="https://mercomindia.com/karnataka-tops-government-rooftop-solar-attractiveness-index/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Karnataka</a> emerged as the best state in India for rooftop solar projects. The state scored 78.8 and was assigned A++.</p>
