<p>The <a href="https://www.aai.aero/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Airports Authority of India (AAI</a>) has invited bids for engineering consultancy from consultancies or engineering, procurement, and construction companies to prepare for a 5 MW ground-mounted solar PV project proposed at Calicut Airport.</p>
<p>The last date for the submission of bids is February 15, 2019. The technical bids will open on February 19, 2019 while the financial bids will open on February 22, 2019 (tentative).</p>
<p>To be eligible for the services, an agency should have successfully installed or provided consultancy services for at least one grid-connected solar PV project of 4 MW or above during the last seven years.</p>
<p>It should also have an annual average financial turnover of at least ₹4,38,960 (~$6,137.10) against the works executed during last three years.</p>
<p>The estimated cost of the consultancy service is around ₹1.24 million (~$17,312.88) and the timeline for completing the work is three months.</p>
<p>The AAI, which comes under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, is a statutory authority responsible for the creation, management, and upgradation of civil aviation infrastructure in India.</p>
<p>The AAI is seeking to use solar as a low-cost and renewable source of power to fuel operations at various airports across India.</p>
<p><a href="https://mercomindia.com/aai-consultants-report-4mw-solar-trichy-airport/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Recently,</a> it issued a similar tender for a 4 MW ground mounted solar PV project proposed at Trichy airport.</p>
<p>A <a href="https://mercomindia.com/aai-epc-tender-4-mw-solar-odisha/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">few weeks ago</a>, it issued an EPC tender to develop a 4 MW grid-connected solar project at the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneshwar.</p>
<p><a href="https://mercomindia.com/aai-tender-1-mw-solar-vijayawada-airport/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">In December 2018</a>, AAI issued a tender for electrical work of 1 MW solar project at Vijayawada airport.</p>
<p><a href="https://mercomindia.com/aai-tenders-karnatakas-hubballi-airport/">In November 2018</a>, AAI tendered an 8 MW grid-connected solar PV project at Hubballi airport in Karnataka. In the <a href="https://mercomindia.com/aai-tender-1-mw-solar-hyderabad-airport/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">same month</a>, AAI tendered a 1 MW grid-connected solar PV project at Begumpet airport in Hyderabad.</p>
<p><a href="https://mercomindia.com/aai-epc-pv-varanasi-airport/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">In April 2018</a>, AAI had issued another EPC tender for a 1.2 MW grid-connected solar PV project at the Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport (LBSI) in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.</p>
<p>Moreover, in <a href="https://mercomindia.com/sterling-wilson-develop-9-9-mw-grid-connected-solar-at-cochin-airport/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">January 2018,</a> CIAL Infrastructures Ltd. concluded the bidding process for the development of 9.9 MW of grid-connected solar projects at Cochin airport. <a href="https://mercomindia.com/rooftop-solar-ahmedabad-airport/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">That</a> same month, a 700 kW rooftop solar PV project was nearing completion at the Ahmedabad airport, and the power generated by that project was expected to be used for captive consumption at the airport.</p>
<p>In <a href="https://mercomindia.com/grid-connected-commissioned-kolkata-international-airport/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">December 2017</a>, a 15 MW grid-connected solar PV project was inaugurated at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International (NSCBI) Airport in Kolkata, West Bengal.</p>
