<p>The <a href="https://www.aai.aero/en" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Airports Authority of India</a> has issued a tender for 1 MW of grid-connected solar projects at Begumpet Airport in Hyderabad. The project will follow the Standard International Trade Classification (SITC).</p>
<p>The bid opening date is September 26, 2019. The estimated cost of the work is ₹4,094,350 (~$57,091). Interested bidders need to pay ₹81,887 (~$1,142) as the earnest money deposit (EMD) to participate in this tender.</p>
<p>According to the AAI, successful bidders should have satisfactorily completed three works, each of ₹19,32,532 (~$26,947), or two works each of ₹24,15,665 (~$33,684) or one work of ₹38,65,064 (~$53,894).</p>
<p>The bidder should have an annual average financial turnover of ₹14,49,399 (~$ 20,210) against the works executed during the last three fiscal years. The bidder will also oversee the comprehensive, operation, and maintenance of the project for 12 years.</p>
<p><a href="https://mercomindia.com/aai-tender-1-mw-solar-hyderabad-airport/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">In November 2018</a>, AAI had issued a tender for an engineering procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor to develop a 1 MW grid-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) project at Begumpet airport. The project would be connected to 33 kV transmission line.</p>
<p>The AAI, which comes under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, is a statutory authority responsible for the creation, management, and up-gradation of civil aviation infrastructure in India. AAI is seeking to use sustainable solar power to fuel operations and cut down on energy expenditure.</p>
<p>In August 2019, <a href="https://mercomindia.com/aai-tender-solar-civil-aviation-uttar-pradesh/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Mercom</a> had reported that the Airports Authority issued a tender for a 500 kW of solar power projects at the Civil Aviation Training College (CATC), located at Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh.</p>
<p>AAI had also issued a notice inviting <a href="https://mercomindia.com/aai-tender-solar-project-prayagraj/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">contractors</a> for the operation and annual comprehensive maintenance of a 300 kW solar PV power project in Prayagraj.</p>
<p>Earlier, it was also reported that Vijayawada International Airport joined the growing list of <a href="https://mercomindia.com/vijayawada-airport-solar-installation/">solar power airports</a> in the country with the commissioning of a 1 MW project. The project was set up by the AAI at an estimated cost of ₹55.4 million (~$78,118).</p>
