<p><a href="https://www.tatapowersolar.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Tata Power Solar</a>, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Power, has commissioned 820.8kWp solar rooftop at the Cricket Club of India (CCI), located in Mumbai. This is the world’s largest rooftop installation atop a cricket stadium, the company stated in its announcement.</p>
<p>The installation of the solar rooftop project will generate over 1.12 million units of electricity per year. It will lead to 25 percent of savings in the power consumption cost and curb the emission of over 840 tons of carbon dioxide annually.</p>
<p>At present, the stadium consumes 0.4 million units/month power on an average (apart from stadium’s floodlights), but with a solar installation, the consumption from the grid would fall to approximately 0.3 million units/month.</p>
<p>“After executing the world’s largest rooftop at a single location and India’s largest carport at Cochin International Airport, Tata Power Solar has installed the world’s largest rooftop in a cricket stadium at CCI Mumbai, in a record period of 100 days,” said Ashish Khanna, President of Tata Power (Renewables) in a media statement.</p>
<p>In <a href="https://mercomindia.com/tata-power-solar-commissions-rooftop-carport-rohini/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">November 2017</a>, Tata Power Solar also developed a solar carport on the rooftop of the 70,000-square-meter Unity One Mall in Rohini, Delhi. The carport was expected to offset 438 tons of carbon emissions annually.</p>
<p><a href="https://mercomindia.com/tata-power-ge-ppa-rooftop-solar/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Recently, Mercom reported that</a> Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd. (TPREL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Power, signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with General Electric (GE). Under the agreement, TPREL would provide solar rooftop solutions for six manufacturing and service sites of GE across the country.</p>
<p>According to the latest <a href="https://mercomindia.com/product/mercoms-india-solar-market-share-report/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">India Solar Market Leaderboard 2017</a>, in the calendar year <a href="https://mercomindia.com/tata-power-cleanmax-top-rooftop-installers-2017/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">2017</a>, <a href="https://www.tatapowersolar.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Tata Power</a> was the top rooftop solar installer in 2017 followed by <a href="https://cleanmaxsolar.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">CleanMax</a> and <a href="http://www.fourthpartner.co/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Fourth Partner Energy</a>. <a href="https://mercomindia.com/tata-power-annual-profit/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Mercom recently reported that</a> renewables emerged as a significant contributor to Tata Power’s annual profit of ₹26.79 billion (~$401.48 million) for FY 2017-18.</p>
