					</table><p><a href="https://www.servotech.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Servotech Power Systems</a>, an electric vehicle (EV) charger, and energy efficiency products manufacturer, has won an order for 1,800 DC Fast EV Chargers to be installed across India from government-owned oil and gas major Bharat Petroleum Corporation (<a href="https://www.bharatpetroleum.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">BPCL</a>).</p>
<p>The order is valued at ₹1.2 billion (~$14.46 million) and encompasses the installation and commissioning of two charger variants, 60 kW and 120 kW in the 70:30 ratio.</p>
<p>Servotech will manufacture, supply, install, and deploy these 1,800 EV chargers across India by the end of 2024, particularly at BPCL petrol pumps in major cities, as part of the BPCL E-drive Project.</p>
<p>BPCL will conduct the initial site inspections to confirm the type of charger that can be installed at each of these sites.</p>
<p>Servotech will also be responsible for a comprehensive annual maintenance contract for seven years following the three-year warranty period. The company will have to provide a security deposit of 10% of the contract value upfront.</p>
<p>BPCL issued the tender for the project in June last year for a total of 2,400 EV chargers (1,800 – 60 kW DC Fast Chargers and 600 – 120 kW DC Fast Chargers).</p>
<p>The BPCL-E-drive project aims to establish e-mobility touchpoints, optimize transactions, improve availability, simplify discovery, and facilitate navigation for EV users.</p>
<p>Servotech and BPCL had previously collaborated to supply and install 2,649 AC EV chargers under the same project. Servotech claims to have completed 36% of the supply and installation for the order and expects the project to be completed by March 2024.</p>
<p>Commenting on the new order, Sarika Bhatia, Director of Servotech Power Systems, said, “We take immense pride in accelerating India&#8217;s E-Mobility revolution in collaboration with BPCL. Our partnership focuses on establishing a dynamic EV charging network that makes EV charging accessible for EV owners nationwide. “</p>
<p>As of January 2024, Servotech has already supplied 4,000 EV Chargers across India.</p>
<p>According to the information provided by R.K. Singh, Union Minister of Power and New and Renewable Energy, in a written reply in the Lok Sabha early last year, the government aims to <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/india-aims-at-9-fold-in-public-ev-charging-2030" target="_blank" rel="noopener">install</a> a total of 46,397 public charging stations for EVs in nine major cities by the end of the decade.</p>
<p>EV sales in India <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/electric-vehicle-sales-2023" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reached</a> a record 1.53 million units in 2023, a jump of over 50% year over year compared to the million units sold in 2022.</p>

Servotech Wins ₹1.2 Billion Contract from BPCL to Deploy 1,800 EV Chargers

					</table><p>Bharat Petroleum Corporation (<a href="https://www.bharatpetroleum.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">BPCL</a>) has issued a request for proposal to set up 100 MW (±5%) wind power projects in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra on a lumpsum turnkey basis.</p>
<p>The scope of work includes setting up 25 MW (±5%) wind projects across two lots each in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.</p>
<p>Each lot must have a cumulative capacity of 25 MW (±5%), with a maximum of two sites having 10 (±5%) MW at any one site.</p>
<p>The last date to submit the bids is January 1, 2024.</p>
<p>The selected bidders must commission the projects in 21 months and manage the projects&#8217; comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&amp;M) for a maximum of 10 years.</p>
<p>The power generated from the projects will be used for captive consumption at BPCL’s refineries at Bina in Madhya Pradesh and Mumbai in Maharashtra.</p>
<p>Bidders must submit an earnest money deposit of ₹10 million (~$119,984) for each lot.</p>
<p>The successful bidders must submit a performance bank guarantee amount equivalent to 10% of the contract value (except for O&amp;M) within 15 days of receiving the contract award.</p>
<p>They must also submit a bank guarantee amount equivalent to 10% of the annual O&amp;M charges one month before the start of the O&amp;M period every year.</p>
<p>TBidders must have experience executing similar works in India during the last ten years. The technical requirement for each of the lots with 25 (±5%) MW capacity wind farm in the tender is as follows –</p>

<p>They should also have operated and maintained at least one wind farm of 10 (±5%) MW capacity with wind energy generators of 1,000 kW or above rating for at least one year.</p>
<p>The wind generators must be listed in the latest Revised List of Models &amp; Manufacturers issued by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and should have a rating of 2,000 kW and above.</p>
<p>The availability of land for the projects is a pre-requisite for all the bidders submitting proposals.</p>
<p>The average annual turnover of the bidders must be equal to or more than ₹400.8 million (~$4.81 million) in the last three accounting years for each lot.</p>
<p>The net worth of the bidders must be positive.</p>
<p>BPCL <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/bharat-petroleum-consultancy-tender-50-mw-wind-projects" target="_blank" rel="noopener">floated</a> a tender for consultancy services for these wind farm projects in June this year.</p>
<p>In June this year, ILIOS Power, a Telangana-based solar project developer, <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/ilios-power-wins-epc-contract-projects-in-kerala" target="_blank" rel="noopener">won</a> an engineering, procurement, construction, and O&amp;M contract from BPCL for 6.9 MW floating solar power projects to power its Kochi refinery.</p>

BPCL Issues Tender for 100 MW Wind Projects in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra

<p>Government-owned oil marketing company, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), has issued two tenders to procure renewable power though open access from solar and non-solar projects for its Mumbai refinery.</p>
<p>BPCL is looking to procure 26.35 million units from solar energy projects, and 39.52 million units of non-solar renewable power on a short to medium term basis. The capacity translates to projects of 6 MW for solar and 9 MW for non-solar. Bidders are expected to quote tariff bids for the electricity supplied at the delivery point.</p>
<p>According to the tender document, the tariff quoted should include transmission losses, transmission charges, scheduling and operational charges, stamp duties, application fees, additional surcharge, and any other applicable charges, except wheeling charges, cross subsidy surcharge, regulatory asset charges, electricity duties, tax on sale of electricity and renewable purchase obligation charges, which will be borne by BPCL.</p>
<p>The earnest money deposit for these bids has been set at ₹1 million ($14,000).</p>
<p>The bid submission deadline for the tender is October 3, 2019.</p>
<p><a href="https://mercomindia.com/indian-oil-corporation-renewable-energy/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Last month</a>, another owned company the Indian Oil Corporation announced plans to diversify its business verticals and make significant investments to the tune of ₹250 billion (~$3.48 billion) in clean energy projects like solar, wind, biomass and solar panels at its filling stations. The company is preparing to scale up its solar and wind power portfolio to 260 MW by 2020 from its current capacity of 216 MW, which includes 167.6 MW of wind and 48.6 MW of solar (comprising 20.5 MW of grid-connected and 28.1 MW of off-grid solar installations). According to the company, it has installed 14.2 MW of solar projects during the financial year (FY) 2018 and installation of another 13 MW is in progress.</p>
<p>Earlier this year, the state was preparing the <a href="https://mercomindia.com/maharashtra-draft-amendments-open-access/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">draft amendment</a>s to the regulations dealing with <a href="https://mercomindia.com/maharashtra-draft-first-amendment-open-access/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">transmission and distribution of open access</a> in the state.</p>

Bharat Petroleum Floats Tender to Procure Renewable Power Through Open Access

<p>Numaligarh Refinery, a group company of Bharat Petroleum Corporation, has tendered a 1 MW solar project to be developed at the Numaligarh Refinery facility located in Golaghat, Assam. The bid-submission deadline is March 1, 2017 and the project commissioning timeframe is eight months.</p>
<p>The project will be developed on a turnkey basis. The scope of work includes, design, engineering, supply, transportation, shifting, installation, testing, commissioning, construction, maintenance of the project and evacuation of power from the project. The refinery has required indigenously manufactured modules to be used.</p>
<p>This a two-part tender and the bidders can quote for 100 kW extra capacity in the second part of the tender. The first phase of the tender calls for the solar project to be installed on ground-mounted panels.</p>
<p>The refinery has earmarked five acres of land for the project. The bidder should include the maximum power generation capacity capable of the area.</p>
