<p>Here are some noteworthy cleantech announcements of the day from around the world:</p>
<p><strong>Himachal Pradesh Government has </strong><a href="https://www.bseindia.com/xml-data/corpfiling/AttachHis/4694b70f-c0ec-46a9-bf25-d9300cd79cb2.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>allocated</strong></a><strong> 501 MW of hydroelectric projects to state-owned power producer SJVN.</strong> The 104 MW Tandi, 130 MW Rashil and 267 MW Sach Khas hydroelectric projects are located on the Chenab basin in Himachal Pradesh.</p>
<p><a href="http://evcosmos.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>EV Cosmos</strong></a><strong> has partnered with </strong><a href="https://chargenet.lk/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>ChargeNET Sri Lanka</strong></a><strong> to provide electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions in India.</strong> The company will provide fast charging solutions at strategic locations in cities, highways, and hotels where EVs can be charged in 15 to 30 minutes. The company aims to install 500 charging stations with 50 MW of installed capacity in the next two years. It is also likely to integrate solar power into charging stations.</p>
<p><strong>The United Kingdom </strong><a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/solar-photovoltaics-deployment" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>added</strong></a><strong> 13.7 MW of solar capacity in November 2020, according to the latest data from the Department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy.</strong> The report stated that the UK has 13,454 MW of installed solar capacity across 1.057 million installations at the end of November 2020. In the same month, new solar installations stood at 4,349, the highest since the closure of feed-in-tariffs to new applicants in March 2019.</p>
<p><strong>In the first nine months of 2020, local and international companies </strong><a href="https://www.boi.go.th/index.php?page=press_releases_detail&amp;topic_id=127330" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>applied</strong></a><strong> to invest around $1.7 billion in over 300 projects in the Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) of Thailand, the Thailand Board of Investment said.</strong> This will take the total value of investments in BCG applications to $6.7 billion since 2018. The BCG model encompasses industries that allow inclusive and sustainable growth while reducing waste, pollution, and dependence on finite resources. According to Thailand’s Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation, those sectors currently have a combined economic value of $113 billion. The government aims to increase that value by 30% to $147 billion by 2025.</p>
<p><strong>France-based Albioma has<a href="https://www.albioma.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/20201223_Albioma_CP_ENG.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"> won</a> 12.1 MW of aggregate capacity in the government tenders to develop and operate solar projects</strong>, one in non-interconnected zones (ZNIs) and the second in mainland France. In all, 17 projects with a total capacity of 7.6 MW were designated winners of the August 2020 call for tenders for ZNIs. These projects are located in Reunion Island, Martinique, and Guadeloupe in France. The construction of these facilities is scheduled to begin in 2021.</p>
