<p>The second edition of the Global Renewable Energy Investors Meet &amp; Expo, RE-INVEST 2017, that was scheduled to be held December 7-9, 2017 at the India Expo Centre, Greater Noida, National Capital Region of Delhi has been postponed to April 19-21, 2018 in the same venue.<strong> </strong></p>
<p>The event was announced in October with just 2 months’ time to organize such a massive event.<strong> </strong></p>
<p>According to a government release, this year’s event was expected to be attended by over 600 global investors, 10,000 domestic and international delegates, and Ministerial-level participation from over 100 countries.</p>
<p>A highlight of RE-INVEST 2017 was going to be the founding ceremony of the ISA and Solar Summit which was to be attended by Prime Minister of India, H.E. President of France, and the Secretary-General of the United Nations.</p>
<p>RE-INVEST 2017 was also expected to be a platform for reviewing the commitments made in RE-INVEST 2015 by industry, banks, manufacturers etc. The industry and developers had committed 293 GW of renewables against which currently 39.3 GW capacity is commissioned or under implementation. The financial pledge of ₹4 trillion (~$61.7 billion) by banks saw only ₹1.8 trillion (~$27.8 billion) approved so far.</p>
<p>There is still a lot of confusion, with the <a href="https://re-invest.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">RE-INVEST website</a> still showing the same dates. Several companies that attended a meeting called by MNRE yesterday confirmed that the event has been postponed. Without official announcement, companies and delegates that had planned the trip to New Delhi are still waiting for confirmation.</p>
