<p>Here are some noteworthy cleantech announcements of the day from around the world:</p>
<p><strong>Mizoram&#8217;s Power Minister Pu R. Lalzirliana </strong><a href="https://dipr.mizoram.gov.in/post/power-minister-inaugurates-states-first-solar-power-plant" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>inaugurated</strong></a><strong> the state&#8217;s first solar power project located at Tlungvel, about 58 kilometers from the capital Aizawl.</strong> The solar project commissioned has a peak generation capacity of 2 MW. The construction of the project began in August 2018 with funds provided wholly by the state government. The solar project is spread over five acres and has 5,340 solar modules. The project is expected to generate three million units annually. Another 20 MW solar project is currently under construction at Vankal in Khawzawl District.</p>
<p><strong>Masdar, a renewable energy company, and PT PJBI, a subsidiary of Indonesia&#8217;s state electricity company PT PLN, </strong><a href="https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/masdar-and-pt-pjbi-form-joint-venture-to-drive-development-of-indonesias-first-floating-solar-power-plant-301194936.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>formed</strong></a><strong> a joint venture to drive the development of the Cirata floating solar power project – Indonesia&#8217;s first floating solar project.</strong> The new company, PT. Pembangkitan Jawa Bali Masdar Solar Energi (PMSE) was formally announced at a ceremony at the Cirata reservoir in West Java, where the project will be located. The event was held as part of UAE-Indonesia Week, taking place throughout this week to mark the close ties between the two nations.</p>
<p><strong>Zuva Petroleum, the leading energy company in Zimbabwe, has </strong><a href="https://www.zuvapetroleum.co.zw/zuva-rolls-out-multi-million-dollar-solar-project/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>announced</strong></a><strong> an ambitious multi-million-dollar solar project that will see the energy giant installing 180 solar projects</strong> across its service stations, Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) sites, and depots by the end of 2021. The announcement confirms Zuva Petroleum&#8217;s ambitions of leading the energy sector in promoting sustainable energy.</p>
<p><strong>U.S.-based Eleris Energy Ltd is keen to </strong><a href="https://www.elerisenergy.com/news" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>invest</strong></a><strong> around $8 billion in the country&#8217;s solar and integrated LNG gas-fired power sector. </strong>The company intends to implement a total of 2,200 MW of grid-connected solar power projects under three separate projects across the country. When implemented, these renewable energy projects will be the biggest in the country and among the leading projects of its kind in the world.</p>
