South Eastern Coalfields Invites Bids for 1.5 MW Floating Solar Project

South Eastern Coalfields (SECL) has issued a tender for a 1.5 MW grid-connected floating solar power project at the Sharda OC, Sohagpur, in Madhya Pradesh.
The scope of work covers the project’s design, engineering, construction, fabrication, erection, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning. It also includes civil, structural, and electrical works and evacuation arrangements.
The successful bidder will also be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the project for ten years.
The total cost of the work, including the GST, is ₹13.39 billion (~$160.25 million).
The earnest money deposit is ₹1.67 million (~$20,005). Bidders liable for EMD exemption must provide proof supporting the exemption.
The total contract period is 11 years.
The project, which includes the construction, trial run, and commissioning, is expected to be completed in a year.
The last date to submit bids is August 10, 2024. Bids will be opened on August 12.
The tender allows joint ventures (JV) or consortiums to place bids.
Bidders must have experience in completing similar works mentioned below in the last seven years:
- Three works, each costing not less than the amount equal to 20% of the estimated cost
- Two works, each costing not less than the amount equal to 25% of the estimated cost
- One work costing not less than the amount equal to 40% of the estimated cost
The bidders’ average annual financial turnover during the last three years should be at least 30% of the estimated cost put to tender.
The financial turnover will be given a weightage of 5% per year to bring it to the current price level while evaluating the bidder’s qualification requirement. Such weightage will be considered from the end date of the financial year.
The qualifying criteria parameter of the individual partners of the JV or consortium will be added for the relevant financial year.
In June, SECL invited bids to commission a 5 MWac/6.75 MWdc grid-connected ground-mounted solar project at Vivek Nagar Mines in Sohagpur, Madhya Pradesh.
